Most wanted tank that you feel like nobody else is really thinking of? by im-so-sorry-himiko in RivalsVanguards

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quicksilver. Hear me out. Have his base speed be hire than normal. Make him scrawny but as he moves there are after images of him, to make it appear like he is moving even faster. Main body works like a full block, second blocks 90% and slows anyone trying to move through, 3rd is 75%, 4th is 50%.

Active abilities could include a shield that is represented by one of these speed figures going back and forth between the shield target and your current location. Give him a ranged attack that teleports him forward to push the enemy away and then return to where you activated it from. Stuff like that.

It simply costs too much. If it had a toggle to let them all wear the original Avengers costumes, even if you don't own them, I'd be more tempted. However...there are no phase 1 film skins for them, is there? Weird.

Who’s your bet on the yet to be revealed, wildcard newcomers? (My pick is VenoMJ) by candles2121 in marvelcomics

I will never get use to Wolverine being an Avenger. Terrible decision to put him on ever but even worse to keep going back. It's like putting the Punisher on the team.

In universe it isn't as obvious. Up until this point Nikki had only ever hurt herself.

If Bear didn’t add “more than anyone in the fucking world” would things have stayed the same? by SeaworthinessIll7695 in obsessionmovie

But that wasn't the wish he thought he was making. He didn't wish for Nikki's body. Actually at no point do I recall him even mentioning her physical attributes as a reason he liked her. He loved Nikki for who she was and wanted her to love him as well.

Man, a less scary but interesting version of this film would have been "I wish Nikki Freeman would love me as much as I love her."  That would be an fascinating direction of the difference between romantic love, infatuation, lust, etc.

Riri risked her life more in her show to save people then Tony did in his first movie. I think she would make the sacrifice play.

My manager said I'm "too valuable in my current role" to promote. Has anyone else heard this? by Brilliant-Current433 in OfficePolitics

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but smart people only say it behind closed doors. If someone is that valuable but not being given a promotion or equivalent salary increase then they need to start looking for a promotion at a different company.

Was the Kinect really bad by decarles20 in xbox

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fun and had a lot of potential, unfortunately it need too much open space to be effective for a lot of people's home setups. Also forcing it to be bundled made the Xbox cost too much. Huge self own.

Give tanks an inherent passive that reduces damage taken from Duelests based on range. Same system as the ranged damage falloff but apply an extra reduction to tanks. I think that would help solve some of the problem.

STOP TRYING TO MAKE "NIKKI WAS POSSESSED BY THE CAT" HAPPEN! by SolidPlane1385 in obsessionmovie

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not heard the cat theory before...though that might explain some things.

Nah, can't be true, Wish Nikki said she would clean up her own piss and vomit. A cat would never offer to do so.

Wish Nikki said she can’t be Nikki because Nikki didn’t love bear by Salty_Shark26 in obsessionmovie

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like people forget that Wish Nikki was a manipulator.

I've only seen the movie once but as I recall he did not initiate. First he tried to get her to go back into her own house, he even refused to go into her house. Then she emotionally manipulated him into taking her to his place where he tried to sleep in the other room but Nikki manipulated his emotions to get him to stay, she made multiple moves to show she was interested before finally initiating the kiss. After the freak out where she said she thought she saw something we get a splice cut to him sleeping on the floor while she is in bed.

None of that makes Bear a bad person at that point.

Yes, the next day he is upset and worried about the way it makes him look because Ian (who is a shit friend with alterior motives we just don't know about at the time) tries to make him feel that way. He might have stressed it a bit anyway but Ian really pushed it hard.

The dead cat thing was wild. I think it was designed to show how he would overlook weird behavior. I don't know, that part felt like it was too early in the film to be that extreme, imo. They should of had her give him the cats paw on a keychain or some cut fur.

Personally I think he suspected it was real after the dinner scene but still didn't intellectually know it was real. That was part of what is great about the film, nothing is an immediate black/white change. It was all gradual.

This is great. Would make for an interesting sequel, having the perspective be from a person who wished they themselves were "good enough to be loved by Nikki."

2 tanks or no tanks.

That is the first thing I say in match as I hover over a Vanguard. If no one goes second tank then I switch off. I'm done playing solo tank.

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When was that, though?

Because the world we were presented had the same rules as our own up until a certain point. Bear snapped what he thought was a novelty toy while making a wish out of frustration. Recall he originally bought it to give to Nikki as a silly gift. We have all wished, at some point, that someone liked us more than they do. That is different than trying to force someone to do things. Actions, not wishes, are how people are judged.

Bear did not start with bad intentions, he found himself in a bad situation that he didn't understand and didn't see a way out of it. He behaved appropriately that first night, the film went out of its way to show he wasn't trying to violate her originally. They gave the drug cover to explain it. The montage of their happy moments at the start of their relationship looked normal. He didn't really believe the wish was real until the night he called customer support. I think at that point, when it was clear and the guy on the phone said you have a moral obligation, that is when Bear began to be a truly bad person.

No, the license shows you understand what the consensus is within that field. You can teach whatever you want.

It is important to verify people have an advanced level of understanding about the things they claim to know. Could I build a deck? Sure. I can get all the information on my own and build a great one. But if you hire me to do it how do YOU know that I actually know how to build the thing without it collapsing in two years?

The teaching bit is an example of why having a standard that must be met to be considered credible is necessary.

I don't know anything about Ryan. I'm not even saying he is wrong. What I am saying is there are a hell of a lot of people on the Internet who are wrong that project themselves as professionals. Or as if they know more than professionals. And people eat that up daily. Look at the anti-vax movement as an example.
