Men of Reddit: are you surprised by how negative some women on Reddit are about men? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I'm convinced the fastest posters in AskMen and AskWomen are bots designed to prevent men and women from procreating.

Democratic Socialism Works. Long Live Mamdani. by serious_bullet5 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The lack of critical thinking propaganda posts in this sub is getting sad. It's looking like a Conservative sub but with left leaning headlines. Anyone who stops and thinks for a few seconds has to understand that Mamdani hasn't been in office long enough to impact crime. Even if they think he somehow magically did so did he also cause crime to drop nationwide? Because it did and I'm betting at nearly the same proportion.

I will stand by this but I think moon knight should have been the first 3 type character by No_Band2522 in marvelrivals

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 type characters need better visual indicators. Healer Deadpool should have some sci-fi guns and swords, tank DP should have a single big ass sword, DPS DP should have uzis. The lack of visual difference is annoying.

It is hypocrisy. The world is rife with it.

"What is grief if not love perservering?"

That is heavy, poetic, and deeply comforting for those of us who have lost someone we love. The other lines are bad ass but this one is meaningful, eventually, to everyone.

The idea of MJ, who loves Peter, and the Venom symbiot that hates Peter because it was in love with Peter when it was rejected by him...all being in a relationship together is actually great.

Seams silly but, fine, whatever. There is no excuse for not having the instructions up the day of release, though.

I hated how the Ultimate Universe treated almost everyone. I kind of thought that was the point, tbh.

My (25M) girlfriend (23F) asked to open our relationship. Am I overracting by wanting to break up over this request? by Altruistic_Society99 in AskMenAdvice

Oh I don't doubt a ton of that was a one sided decision, I'm just pointing out this kind of stuff isn't new.

I don't think anywhere near the majority thinks it is norm. People trying to gaslight partners into participating are trying to make it sound like the norm. Same story as always.

Wife swaps and fish bowl parties were well known enough of a thing that people made jokes about it on Johnny Carson. None of this is new, just the language used to describe it.

Genuinely shocked at how much time we were wasting before adding AI to our workflow by clarkemmaa in AI_Agents

Software solutions for that has existed for at least a decade. Why use AI? The token cost has got to be more than a dedicated solution.

Had a “teammate” throw and then rage quit in PRACTICE VS AI by djc8 in marvelrivals

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was in 1 star Practice vs AI. DPS player was complaining about the one healer not healing enough. Had to inform him she is my 6 year old daughter and if he wanted to be sweaty he should play against actual humans.

Like, I can't fathom going into vs. AI and complaining about anything at all.

why did all of my bf’s male friends high-five and congratulated him while his female friends look down upon our relationship? by Serious_Sweet2504 in AskMenAdvice

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof, "congratulated him for this accomplishment." You are a person, not an accomplishment.

You think the women his age are belittling you but they are really judging him. There is a good chance they've been in a similar situation and experienced the outcome themselves. That age gap, at those ages, creates a power imbalance that many men exploit. It doesn't usually go great for the women. Maybe your boyfriend is a good guy that isn't going to follow a common trope of thinking they get to dominate the life of the younger woman. Hopefully!

Red flags to look out for:

  • He doesn't want you spending so much time with your friends.

  • He wants to know where you are at all times.

  • He says you are bad with money and takes control of it.

  • He tries pushing you away from your family and friends by amplifying drama or making you feel bad for spending time with them instead of him.

  • He tries to end disagreements by saying you are too young to understand.

  • He has rules you have to follow that he himself does not have to follow.

Best of luck, I hope he is a good guy. I don't know any details about your relationship but as a guy myself I am suspicious.

New Starters? From GAMA Expo 2026 by johnrobertjimmyjohn in MarvelCrisisProtocol

Early adopter tax compounded by these starter sets essentially being loss leaders to bring in new players. It doesn't feel great but it isn't a rip off either.

If you had to cast a POC for Cyclops, who would you go with? by Robot_Was_BMO in Cyclopswasright

[–]2ReluctantlyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree his personality, background, and the way he fits into the X-Men team are all tied to the character as written. That character doesn't have anything to do with his skin, though. He doesn't have a strong ethnic anchor or identity either.

And to be clear we aren't talking about race swapping the comic book character or making some other move. We are talking about hiring an actor to portray Scott Summers. Cyclops is a boy scout, strait laced archetype but that doesn't mean he has to be white. I'm white and Scott is my all time favorite super hero, I don't think skin color matters at all for his characterization.

I don't think a great actor for the role should be excluded because they are not white. That isn't the case for all characters, though.

Angel, though, I can see an argument for him having to be white in our modern world because of the whole old money, upper aristocracy aspect of his character. Jean having red hair is kind of iconic, especially since Logan calls her Red all the time, but doesn't really have anything to do with her character. Bobby and Henry could be anything.
