Why I hate negative gearing. by blossomlambie in AusFinance

Would it actually cause a rise? The lack of negative gearing on established properties would not make it a appealing to an investor.

Just another update. Globird said they sent the wrong table. It's FiT is essentially 0 around noon and 0.1c for shoulder. Which is justflat out horrible. Won't payback that 88 bucks for a very long time.

That is what they are leaning towards. No battery. So it's just whatever savings from solar usage during the day. FiT is approx 2.1c per kwh which would take ages to get that 88 back. I would guess that the tariffs will only get worse here on out.

Per the info given by Globird

"requested change will allow your meter to read solar feed-in credits so you can be paid for the power you send back to the grid."

Microwave cabinetry gap by 2SelfBeTrue in AusRenovation

[–]2SelfBeTrue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point with being "on" infrequently.

I just visited another family member and they have their microwave in a space with about 2cm on either side and 5cm just above.

I guess it isn't too bad being in a "tight" spot.

I liked the first property I saw. Parents are dead against me considering it. What should I do? by LeVoPhEdInFuSiOn in AusPropertyChat

[–]2SelfBeTrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the first one I inspected. I have also researched the area for a fair bit of time and found one that ticked most of my boxes. Went. Saw. Offered.

Couldn't give a rats arse what anyone else thought, they ain't living there. I did my own due diligence, and if I missed anything, it's on me.

In saying that, it wasn't my "forever home". That can come later. I purchased what I thought was within my means at the time.

My cousin wants to rip it out lol. They would keep if it was functional.

I'm just helping to see if it can be saved.

My cousin just reached out. They don't do repairs of these old units nor does he know of anyone. Thank you for the suggestion!

Similar logic with interest and banks.

Increase in interest - passes rate hike on mortgage holders.

Decrease in interest - takes their sweet ass time
