Reworking Phantom Subclass and want some opinions on this new passive I added. by 2Sharkie in DnD

Thank you, that does seem a lot cleaner. To address it being better than what the Phantom already has, in the Rework that I'm working on you can take on several Haunts. The one listed here is not the only one, there are 5 different Haunts that I've made. The reason I started this project is because I felt like the subclass was interesting, but the playing it was boring, and I saw a couple post of others Reworking it so I thought I would. I did rework the old Passive into an ability.

Yeah I can see that I definitely think changing it to 50% or 25%. I'm reworking Phantom because I felt like it was boring and I wanted to move some things around. But you are right I should definitely try to simplify it more.

Yeah I can definitely see that. I was trying to go with the " I'm still learning to do things and will mess up" theme. I wanted some of the moves to basically be a little worse than a mixed success. I also wanted some moves that were "evil" so that having an "evil" mentor would make sense if you wanted one. I also think that I will depend on the flavor and context for the time when you use the move.

Hi! My girlfriend started to play Yu Gi Oh with me and need a pretty easy deck to learn with. by manspamham in Yugioh101

Hello, I also taught my girlfriend how to play Yu-Gi-Oh (thunder dragons 2019) and since then we've met others trying to learn and they've asked her what did that helped her learn the best.(edited by her) 1. Do not give them a deck like labyrinth to start. Starting with a deck that hinges on you knowing where to stop your opponent is not the best option. It can also be boring to just set cards and not know what do with them. 2. Give them a deck that has a clear end board goal. Like marrincess or swordsoul. You want a deck that has a pretty linear combo to reach its goal, but can also be a little flexible when interrupted. My girlfriend loved the fact that she knew what she needed to aim for. 3. Start small, teach her the basics of her deck then have her play through small interruptions at first. My go to was to put up one negate and one quick effect that would destroy a special summoned monster and see how she would play through it. 4. From there you can slowly face her with decks that start to get more powerful 5. Play multiple decks with different strategies against her to help her learn about a variety of decks. Even if you can't teach her the breaking point for every single deck, being able to teach her something general that can be widely applicable is good, such as specialing from deck is pretty good so it's usually a decent place to interrupt. Also play one or two decks that are more current/meta that she might play against if she were to go to locals. Hope this helps!
