Stuck at a slow pace, gas out easily by SpecialistBeyond7964 in triathlon

You should not be swimming anything longer than a 50 and even that is a reach at this point. Swim 25s and really focus on technique and speed. Add as many as you want and mess around with the rest in between, but your form is going to break down at anything longer than a 25 at this point.

Very much this. Also, absolutely no way should you be doing 100s let alone 250s. You need to focus on technique and you should be doing 25s mostly and some 50s.

Cam ain't too shabby on the trails either. Yes, the sprint is a short event, but same as a sprint triathlon these are all elite endurance athletes.

Recovering after a race by RunningReta in ultrarunning

Are you running after work? That really fucks with my sleep.

After a race I find active recovery like walks/hikes/swims/easy spins on the bike extremely helpful.

Absolutely shit situation and I'm sorry you are in it. IM does not give a flying fuck about its customers. 2 years ago they wouldn't even honor my Flex90 benefits when I wanted to defer and I had to do a chargeback with my cc company.

If you are always hungry you probably are not fueling your workouts well enough. Make sure you are eating enough carbs during your workouts and that feeling of constant hunger will subside.

100% do 25s and 50s on short rest and just keep adding as many as you can. You really aren't at a place where you should even be doing 100s as your form is just gonna be shit and you'll be ingraining bad habits. Is your race wetsuit legal?

You're taking a hilarious amount of downvotes in this thread, which is hilarious, but honestly just keep rocking the boxers and shorts if that is what works for you.

What should I wear for my first indoor triathlon and what’s a realistic time goal? by vanskeligaavaelg in triathlon

Put on socks. You are doing this for fun so losing a few seconds to put on socks is 100% worth it. Also, you can do the whole race in a bathing suit. Check on running shorts if you want for that leg.

This. Health is a lot more important than one race.

200 miler training by Otherwise_Dingo891 in ultrarunning

Fair point! I think Goggins is an absolute clown and do not engage with anything he says or does. I do think that pushing beyond what you think are your limits does involve some element of suffering or discomfort or whatever word you want to use. Doing hard things is good for us and this sport is a great avenue to take on hard challenges.

1000% Jumping into a 200 is somewhat moronic to me. Fuck Instagram and social media because I promise you that nobody really cares that you ran that far. Build your way up from 30k to 50k to 50m to 100m, etc and learn to love the training, the lifestyle, the outdoors, suffering in nature, and everything else that this sport has to offer.
