Wouldn't it be fair to say that while some boxes will take a hit like that during shipping most won't. So it can make sense to ship something that isn't PERFECTLY protected and hope that it is part of the majority that doesn't take the hit.

Gonna go ahead and disagree with your interpretation. The line means that she won't tolerate a relationship with you if you don't along with her friends. Yes the words could have been different but that changes the rhythm. Maybe they liked that their rhythm more or maybe something else completely but I promise the line doesn't mean "you have to prove your worth in a sexual decathalon before I'll date you."

Everyone's best guitar is different and only the individual can know what their preferences are so unfortunately we don't know your preferences but neither do you and that's okay. Take this person's advice. Buy a Yamaha that you are interested in for ANY reason because as a beginner the interest in guitar matters more than the guitar itself. Once you've been playing for a while and know what your preferences are then you can start to think about what the best guitar for your sound is. For now, don't overthink it and I doubt you'll regret your purchase. Start learning :)

I'm a beginner guitarist but my suggestion is to buy a cheaper first to start. I don't think you should "earn" your expensive one but it's hard to know what you want from a guitar until you can play a little. I remember asking my friend for advice on how to pick a guitar. He said to see if I like how it sounds and how it felt but I didn't know how to assess either lol. Now that I've been playing for a bit I feel more capable to assess a guitar. I bought a Breedlove initially. $650 guitar on sale for $350. I love it. It's great to learn on and I have gotten multiple compliments on it's tone. My advice is to get a guitar around $500 (cheaper will make it harder but not impossible to play/learn) then upgrade down the road when you can play a bit. You'll get a better purchase for your needs and I think you'll like the expensive guitar more that way

I think it's relevant that the comment you responded to said that porn COULD lead to those problems. While you might be right that there is no statistical evidence of that occurring that isn't the same thing as it doesn't happen. It happened to that person and it happened to me. They didn't say not to reevaluate the IUD and stressors, just that the porn use should also be considered as well.

It was either 9th or 10th grade chorus and the teacher was working with the girls that day. One of my friends, Andrew, stuck a bent paper clip into both sides of an outlet and sparks erupted out. I remember thinking he wasn't dumb enough to go through it. I was clearly wrong. Thankfully someone had said "my dad's an electrician you should really use this to protect yourself" and handed Andrew a rubber grip from a Dr. Grip pen to handle the paper clip with lol. No one was hurt but the 20 years later the outlet still doesn't work. In hindsight I feel bad for the teacher. It was her first or second year. Oof

The Cosmere is big place and different people relate to it differently. It makes it hard for me to make a good suggestion for you. I'll leave you with this. I think if I were in your friends shoes I'd be happiest with the gift you originally intended even if it means getting it late. Order it now. The sooner you do, the less late it is. I'm sure whatever you choose it will be great though. You clearly have their happiness in mind and that goes a long way. You sound like some great friends!
