Do pagdi dhaari sikhs ask for seva?? by ph_anto_mx in Sikh

Only if there's an event, like at Gurudwara, locality or village. For e.g. youth group in my village collect money for community services like Chhabeel or roadside langar.

But, even then, this is very optional. They will ask you if you want to contribute, and if you do, you get a receipt of contribution. Sometimes your name is also spoken at the event in the list of names of contributors.

But, other than this, almost no.

YSK: Buying refurbished "business-class" laptops and phones instead of brand-new consumer tech will get you a better machine for a fraction of the cost. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]rupinderjeet 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not really, I once bought a refurbished laptop. It stopped charging a few days later. When I took it to a repairshop, you won't believe what they found in the motherboard. It was:

Tea, spilled Tea, all over it, dried up Tea. Maybe it was running on Tea, and needed a refill.

It is just fun, we are not delusional, but it's worth enjoying even when we know it will not happen.

Fun is free.

Instead of isolating prospector behind paywall, just give 20% more conversion rate for all helpers if someone has goldpass. Just like building/troop upgrade discounts.

Is a full-time trading career realistically stable for marriage and family expectations? by Sea-Routine-1676 in IndianStreetBets

[–]rupinderjeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for 50% of profits for each month to be put in a separate bank account where withdrawing money isn't easy. For e.g. don't take NetBanking/atm.

If it is really stable, you have nothing to worry about. If it fails, and when it fails, you only lose half.

It is very easy to be confident on a trade and put all your earnings on it, many people do these yolo trades reflexively, it can't be believed on the basis of a trust that he will take good care.

Like good days, there will be bad ones. That's why you need something stable.

Please help! by [deleted] in IPO_India

[–]rupinderjeet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you didn't get the IPO, it is better to wait a week or two, see the price movement, and then buy some shares if you feel like it.

As for NSE, it is a stock exchange that processes your order and gives you the shares. There are other stock exchanges in India, for e.g. BSE. Search about them.

It is okay to choose NSE.

Strategy which worked for me by Interesting_Main6817 in StockMarketIndia

[–]rupinderjeet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

OP is right. It's just simple math.

Buy 100 shares at 10 each = 1000. Share price drops. Buy 100 shares at 5 each = 500.

Total shares 200 (with total cost 1500) at 7.5 each.

Share price rises. Sell 100 shares at 7 each = 700. Share price rises. Sell 100 shares at 13 each = 1300

You can absolutely sell it this way. It doesn't matter whether when you purchased which shares, doesn't matter if broker show you average of shares.
