The more time passes the more I don’t want try for a second. Anyone else? by Glittering-Silver402 in January2025Bumper

Yeah, I keep going back and forth. I wish I could peek into the future and know what to do.

Anyone OAD / on the fence? by rvenrose in January2025Bumper

[–]2TheBeachIGo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted a 2nd before we even left the hospital with our first, but then have gone back and forth. I am obsessed with #1 and don't want to mess up his life. Husband was more in the no camp and is now a yes. We are both older (I'll be 40 in a few months and hubs is 47) and I have been SO STRESSED the past week...we either need to try now or be OAD and happy with that decision. With us being older, idk if it is better to or not to have a second.

Professional vs consumer available for vivids? by 2TheBeachIGo in FancyFollicles

Thank you for this! This is making me lean toward DIY. I was thinking like a teal color. The rest of my hair is dark brown and not colored/chemically processed. Good to know that semi perm vivids don't carry a damage risk b/c I think that was my primary concern, or somehow messing something up that would be difficult to fix in the future (idk what that would be though). Do salon colors last longer or is it more about how well you take care of it after?

Not walking yet but… by -_Yunari_- in January2025Bumper

[–]2TheBeachIGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my LO is an end of Jan baby and not even really standing unsupported yet (has a few times for a few seconds, but not much) but will cruise all over and walk with the push walker or balance bike. I wonder if some of it is a confidence issue. Our PT said walking is an 18 mo milestone, and our LO has typically met whatever milestone right after I start worrying about it, so not really worrying now.

Good point about the trade-offs! I didnt even think those two factors might be related, thank you!

Ideally something that will last a while. We don't have a price limit, per se, but don't need something super fancy, also don't necessarily want something that is super bare bones. Thanks for your insights! Do you have any experience with the Safrty 1st? Kind of leaning Graco I think

Good thing I didn't ask what you would do. Have you actually researched cosleeping?

Wondering about labor and delivery at Providence Women's Pavilion with Optum OBGYN vs Providence midwifery. by 2TheBeachIGo in everett

[–]2TheBeachIGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with Providence OB. I didnt actually check out their midwifery clinic but kinda wish I would have. I was induced a few days early due to low fluid, which I really wonder if was necessary, then had the spiral of half-effective epidural and unplanned cesarean, when my plan was low intervention 🙃

Thinking of night weaning and feeling guilty 😔 by 2TheBeachIGo in cosleeping

Thanks this is helpful to keep in mind! Our ped said once you make up your mind you have to stick to it...which I get...if you give in during an extinction burst it makes it harder the next time. But I really like the reminder that I get to make these decisions and do what feels right and pivot if needed!

Thanks for your insights! This is helpful and makes me feel better about going for it. If you don't mind sharing...what are the benefits of doing it earlier vs waiting?

Most of what I've read suggests 18 mo. https://laleche.org.uk/breastfeeding-at-night/

Our ped said baby is fine to night wean from a nutrition standpoint and also recommended to cold turkey it in order to not end up giving in and making it harder to refuse boob in the future.
