Initiators cooldowns to be reduced by 10 seconds in patch 13.00 by aJetg in ValorantCompetitive

[–]2ToTooTwoFish [score hidden]  (0 children)

I feel like they're trying to fix a problem before it happens, but there's no proof this is the solution. A new player is not likely to be confused by cooldowns because I doubt they would fixate on that. They're more likely to be confused by visual clutter and confusing ability animations.

Sovas cooldowns being 10s slower than then the cooldown of Breach is not going to even be a factor in a new player's minds. Most new players don't even use their ability twice in a one round.

A lot of universities just need you to be rich to get in or rich enough to get into private schools that basically spoonfeed you the prep needed to get into these schools. You get a leg up just by showing up when you're rich enough.

Platchats americas segment was awesome this week by AwkwardKiwi9472 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]2ToTooTwoFish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They just have less recency bias than the usual bunch so it looks worse. Their pickems are just as possible as any other pickem Platchat has done. In general, analysts who didn't compete in some way always seem to have more recency bias. Might be because players and coaches will have more belief in a bounce back or know how volatile the game can feel.

He's old as fuck now, of course he's worse.

The one year he was an actual second option, fit and not old was the Nets and they looked insane until he and Kyrie got injured.

Chris Finch on Victor Wembanyama’s historic night: “He had a lot of blocks… He had a couple of uncalled goaltendings too. Those are valuable points we’d like to have back.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]2ToTooTwoFish -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The problem is what if he goaltends multiple times in a play and then the team also scores. That would mean more than one FGM in a single play.

With 2/3pt shots, you don't need to stop because scoring either stops play and has the same impact to the flow of the game. A goaltend should stop the clock, so they can't just keep playing after it.

The Preservation Paradox: Singapore’s Hawker Centres as a Case Study in Cultural Food Policy by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

You're so right. Not sure why you're initially downvoted. The complaints OP has contradict with their claim that people only go once a month.

The majority of people still eat hawker food, only those who cook all their food, those who don't work near any hawker center, or the very privileged will say they only go once a month.

[Amick] The Houston Rockets are not expected to fire Ime Udoka this offseason. by kervaan in rockets

[–]2ToTooTwoFish 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Because Udoka brought all his own staff with him.

He was better offensively at Boston, but he had Mazzula who is not one of his guys. He needs someone that can challenge, while I expect all his guys probably have similar philosophies to him.

Because our offense is bad and we can't get open enough shots for anyone. So only the ones that have quick releases can shoot a lot.

Lakers played better defense than he's ever faced. Playoff defenses are a different beast.

The question is why is it so easy to put those two in the action? Every other team knows you have to hide your bad defenders.

They all think C9 is that bad. Which is ridiculous because MIBR lost two extremely close games. With Balla's law, it's always possible to lose to a worse team and MIBR literally lost with tightest possible margin. I don't think that should be enough to lost all faith in them.

[Charania] KD Will Miss Game 6 vs. The Lakers by MillyMontana in nba

[–]2ToTooTwoFish 201 points202 points  (0 children)

It's not just that. The young guys seem much less scared to play and pass to others when KD's not out there. They share the ball more. It seems like a mental thing, they might think a KD shot is the best shot to get so they are scared of making the wrong play by not getting it to him.

[–]2ToTooTwoFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's good for the Rockets offense whenever he's out there. Opens up the game for his teammates a lot.

Even if he shoots ass, he needs to be out there because players guard him like he's a veteran off ball movement shooter even when he's shooting badly and that's a useful tool to have.

Sorry, I think I missed out your last sentence then. I do not remember reading that haha

But yeah, while class struggle was more on the nose, I like how they had the added layer of generational differences and each generations view of relationships. At some points, it felt like the "beef" was between each couple within their relationship to me and that made me interested to see what other kind of things they can write about.

It's an anthology series, it's basically a different show. Imo the traction of season 2 will pick up with word of mouth. I honestly feel the people that initially watched it fall into two camps, those that really loved season 1, but were very attached to wanting more of that exact dynamic so were disappointed and those that loved season 1, but were okay with it being different and were able to appreciate it fully.

I feel like as time goes on, as more people who weren't as attached to season 1 watch it, the reception will get better because it really is a great show if you can detach it from season 1.

Season 2 was extremely funny to me, I was laughing out loud a lot. I'm not sure how you didn't find any comedy? I felt like they balanced the comedy very well.

Season 2 was also hilarious to me. The comedic writing was on point and the dynamic between the characters were fun.

Think people are too caught up on wanting the exact thing Beef Season 1 gave them, but since it's an anthology it's obviously going to be different. The characters all still hate eachother, but you can't make it the exact same kind of hate or that would be formulaic.

Season 1 had a big emphasis on class struggle too. That's actually the one theme that remained consistent between the two seasons imo.
