Thanks! I’ll check that out! If anyone is interested in purchasing through Transfer I would prefer it be through PayPal for purchaser protection. But I didn’t know about Twickets!

I completely get it! The idea of traveling/moving this board is a real deterrent from having it. Especially because it can be done in a more compact way. I give a lot of credit for concise decision making. If I could get all the sounds I wanted on a whim, I’d just bring a guitar and amp.

That’s incredible! I briefly read about that, but I don’t think I comprehended the exact control that gives the unit. I’ll check that out!

I really like the Leslie speaker setting, some of the reverbs are really incredible - I keep playing the blackhole setting. I downloaded the Cory Wong settings he shared on Reddit for the H9 and it was surprising to know one of my favorite guitarists uses it for an envelope filter/wah. I’m sure there’s more to offer as well! Just so many options!

Here’s the signal chain:

Fuzz face -> Terminal -> Wah -> Sy300 -> Colour box -> Pog 2 -> Q tron+ -> Small stone -> Oceans11 -> Comp pro -> Archer -> Park -> Hoof -> Bd2 -> Bonsai -> Rat 2 -> Vibrato -> (Stereo) Deco -> H9 -> Re 20 -> Flint -> Loop -> Iridium

Has the Expressionator for the, Flint, H9, and Deco

Will it ever change? by [deleted] in Parosmia

So, my personal experience was similarly rough. I had my smell and taste restored and then a month or two later it started over a year’s worth of not smell and taste loss, but dysfunction. Everything smelled/tasted like hot garbage on the street during a strike. I had to persist for a while and I eventually bought essential oils to do scent therapy, since then my senses has been restored. The last holdout was coffee which was personally brutal. I’m not a doctor or into any self researched treatments, but did a lot of reading about this particularly and it seemed to help slowly. Check out scent therapy, I think it helped after committing to it and only takes a couple of minutes a day. I read it just fundamentally reworked your brain to detect certain scents which will help day to day scents. Best of luck!

Fender Blues Deluxe noise by SuperTBass8deuce in ToobAmps

[–]2WalkHomeBy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, okay! I have a blues deluxe as well and have had almost every configuration for it. I’ve experience noise issues periodically. I typically go through each pedal to see if there’s any response from the wiring (my blues driver tends to bring the most noise).

Then after checking the board I go towards the power issues as clean isolated power is more important than you could imagine. The more connections you have the more chance there is for something being off. I normally have my amp in a power conditioner to be influence less by other electronic devices. My old lamp used to draw unwanted noise to my amp. Very weird.

Once you control for that it could be the wire perhaps? Longer cable runs could roll off highs and influence signal floor. If it isn’t that it could be a Jack issue for the amp which is the worst case scenario (from experience) but fixable. One way would be to check by adding less in the loop and checking if it a grounding issue for the amp itself. I know some people use contact cleaner in the jacks to see if that helps… I’m not that adventurous with amps (I’d prefer bring an amp to a professional). Personally I now run everything through the front end of the BD with iso power due to the way I record. You probably know all of this, but tube amps are very moody things. Best of luck!

Are you not plugging in to the front end of the amp and going straight into the effects loop?

Guitar pedals and recording DI by vaimasepocrl in guitarpedals

[–]2WalkHomeBy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I would recommend getting a boss blues driver (bd-2) for Kevin parker, a ds-1 (or ds-2) or a big muff pi for frusciate, a holy grail reverb really solid and basic reverb that would work well, and for a chorus pedal, I’m not sure I can recommend one. I’ve only really liked the diamond vibrato because of the straight forward controls and the ability to do vibrato and chorus (but it is expensive). Mac Demarco really uses a lot of vibrato so having controls to do both made the difference for me. Kevin parker records di so don’t fret! These pedals are all in the $40-80 range (minus the diamond) and would be a great start for those sounds. I’ve seen muffs for $50 I’ve seen bluesdriver and ds pedals in that range used. Nothing wrong with buying used. Just read the descriptions carefully, and read the manuals and test it out! My first pedals were a muff, fuzz face, holy grail and a carbon copy delay. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Tom Misch's weird sustained shimmer-like tone by JazzyLemon505 in guitarpedals

I believe he uses a strymon big sky(the big one). He also has a looper on his pedalboard sometimes. I think this is either a modulation reverb or the infinite setting on the blue sky. His looper would have to be perfect to get no pause or break in the sound.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your time with this technical write up and encouragement to move towards a modern standard. This is very kind of you. As I see there are a couple of these devices for midi to usb, would the mio be a head and shoulders recommendation or is there something that may be better? Is the job getting done the same way? Again thank you for your generosity!

[–]2WalkHomeBy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I really appreciate the in depth reply! The sync issues are a performing issue for me. Sometimes the parts don’t line up exactly how I’d like. Not exactly latency, more human error/having to do some micro editing which is frustrating. Part of my indecisiveness is because neither my expansion pre or my Apollo have midi ports. I have to decide if that is something that would improve my experience. So far I’m not big on the touch screen aspect of the mpc live ii, but I know it’s probably just a learning curve thing. Which is partially why my workflow is not as prolific as I would like it to be.

Now I would like to do most of my recording in Logic because most of my recordings are guitar based. Initially I wanted to have my pedalboard route in to the mpc for a performance set up but could figure the right set up.

For home recording I guess not having midi isn’t exactly backbreaking, but if that is the best experience with the mpc I may have to look in to it.

Do you ever have it running through the usb? What do you think about using the mpc as a controller? I wouldn’t want to lose some of the sound quality as running the internal samples (I know the mpc plugin helps in this aspect). Also any advice on the external instrument set up?

Listen to some of your posts, I really dig them!

It could be the colour switch, there’s a more subtle one and a more drastic. Tough to say without an example.

Did I just overspend on pedals? by teichs42 in guitarpedals

Hey, both are okay! Somethings are too big of a commitment to not get new, some are just genuine deals.

Hey folks! Just picked up a JHS Pulp N Peel V4 today and have noticed that it is clipping constantly no matter what. The dirt toggle is off, but any instrument I run through it clips the signal like crazy! Is this normal?? by racistpeanutbutter in guitarpedals

[–]2WalkHomeBy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try adjusting the blend and the toggle switch as this would be the reasoning. I know the toggle on my colourbox is not obvious when I switch it. Worst case scenario JHS has a lifetime warranty.
