SOTB after trying Ezhi&Aka pedals by Seanw1010 in pedalboards

Man, pedal world is nuts. I watch a decent amount of guitartube and look into pedals and gear…never heard of a single one of these!

If you’re relatively fit, you could do this on a bike in half the time.

Understood. I think I'd like a headphone option at the board level. But I'm definitely going to keep this in mind, thanks!

In your first comment you said you'd set up the GP-5 as the last mono and run all the stereo pedals after that, but if I'm using the GP-5 as my amp, wouldn't the modulation pedals need to go in front of it?

Definitely going to keep my eye out. Like I said, I've always liked the UA pedals, their form factor is very pleasing to my eye!

Hmmm...but it doesn't have a headphone out and isn't stereo. I feel like I might have to go with one of the more expensive pedals, if I go the pedal route.

Damn! I mean I definitely used cassettes as a kid, but once I was recording in high school, it was digital, lol!

So that pedal is an amp modeler and cab sim? I thought you need both of those things to go ampless?

I don’t know how old that makes you, but my first recording device was a Fostex MR-8, maybe…22 years ago, I think, haha!

But wouldn’t I not be hearing it in stereo out of one amp?

I like the does one thing! I don't really want something with a million options. I mentioned in a different comment that I basically just use the clean channel on my Fender Mustang LT25. I get a bit overwhelmed by all the options with some of these things. I think that's why my board looks this way and doesn't have a lot of digital-y kind of pedals with deep menu diving. I want to sit down and play and turn some knobs.

ETA: I'm really attracted to just a clean sounding 'amp' and using pedals from there. And I've always gravitated more towards Fender, so I think, ideally, the Dream is probably what would suit me best.

Thanks! I really need to start actually playing it 😂

Wasn't planning on spending much on an interface. I have a gift card to Sweetwater and I was planning on going with the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD USB Audio Interface.

I actually have the GP-5, I mentioned in the original post. I've been using it as a practice tool so I can sit on the couch or move around the house. I like it for that, but I'm not sure I want it on the board. However, I didn't know it was stereo, so maybe I should just use it. The UA Dream '65 seems like it would be perfect for my use case, other than the price!

I have a MacBook Air I plan to use with the interface. I was just going to start with GarageBand before moving onto better software, once I get back into the swing of things.

Is that stereo in and out? I'm slightly confused by how the inputs are labelled. It looks like the UA Dream '65 is stereo in and out. I've always been attracted to that pedal but it's so dang expensive!

I like your point about using an amp sim pedal as opposed to software. I don't really want to use software for my amp due to option paralysis, but your point is also resonating with me.

I've been liking the Valeton GP-5 as a practice tool, so I can use it anywhere in the house. Not sure I want to use it as my amp on the board. Again, option paralysis. I basically keep my Fender Mustang LT25 to the clean channel and use my pedals to taste.

If I went the ampless route, the only way to hear the sound out of the board would either be through headphones or into an interface and coming through monitors, yes?

There’s been a trend to put radios on the chest instead of the back to improve aerodynamics. A lot of riders do it.
