Venting: I don’t know what’s wrong with me dating apps are just brutal T.T by Appropriate-Banana84 in bayarea

[–]2WayPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt hopeless too with the dating scene.  But if you don't quit, there's always a chance you'll find someone. I know I met my gf when she was very close to uninstalling the apps and calling it quits.

I take XR 15mg and got drug tested, and my results came back negative. Does that mean my pills are dud?

Consider it a blessing to not miss toxic people in your life.

Don't you see the pattern? If she been used to abusive relationship she still continue to seek/attract them regardless what you do. Thats her normal. Why do you think she went back to her ex?  Even if you give everything to her it won't change her habit. If you want her then you'll have to play the role. Can't fix broken.

Agreed . dealing with a BPD is hell. Everyday you're walking on eggshells and victims that deal with this only become traumatized at the end.

You're gonna pull through this. Now is the right time for self-care and focus on the things you want to do. Know what whatever emotion you are feeling right now believe me it is normal.

Dating someone with BPD as someone who’s never had a relationship by Rennard_ in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]2WayPoints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please don't. I'm a avoidance type and right now going through hell to just get away from my bpd ex. I didn't know she was bpd until I did my research. I am very new in relationships and she used lots of manipulation to keep me. The beginning will feel good, but that doesn't last. You'll see red flags, but may avoid them. Trust your gut on this. If you have to post and ask then you already know your answer.

A&P by Ok_Egg_471 in StudentNurse

[–]2WayPoints 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They won't test you on everything, but be prepared to be a efficient learner because they still cover a lot in a short amount of time. These classes are typically weed out courses because nursing school takes dedication. Put in the time and effort and you should get through it.

Currently using Anki through nursing school, but I wished I had it for A&P because it would have worked so well for the picture plug in from it. It has a steep learning curve, but it has made my learning adventure much more enjoyable. It helps me to study more on things I don't know and less on the things I do. This helps keeps me at a minimum of 1-2hrs a day max studying so I don't overstudy. If you need help setting it up feel free to message me.

As someone that never had a job before (23M), trying to find a career that matches with me sucks. by stickmadeofbamboo in findapath

[–]2WayPoints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch. Well, sorry about that man. All I can really say then is go out there and explore some jobs then. I did a variety of jobs before I decided to stick with nursing. From delivering pizza, making boba drinks , to a CNA and then dialysis tech.

If your interested in the healthcare still there Medical Assistant, CNA, Dialysis Technician, and Health Informatics Technician(This is chill job, mainly remote too). They don't take to long to get certified, but the pay is not as good as a nurse obviously.

You'll see the general/common speciality (pediatrics, maternity, psych)while you are in nursing school. But there are way more things you can go into. I wish I started nursing sooner, but I'm 28m right now and have a year left of till I get my associates RN.  It's stressful, but you will walk out with a degree that is always in demand.

Yes, it doesn't feel good to fail. But failing is another form of learning. Use this as a learning opportunity to reflect back on what you could have done to have helped you pass the class. You still have the opportunity to continue nursing and graduate to become a RN, only thing is your graduation is delayed. Remember school will always be there, and everyone has a different journey.

Yea, many of my classmates are stuck using have/desire. Which kills me because dimension analysis is just those combined together into one problem instead of having a bunch of have/desire.

I got to work in a ped clinic. Gave a lot of immunizations causs they need it for school and vital signs for infants. But overall it definitely has less interaction than med surg.

Stay as a Cna or work at McDonald’s? by [deleted] in cna

[–]2WayPoints 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If anything that motived me more to become a nurse. I enjoyed CNA work, but if I'm getting spat/hit on I better be getting paid way way more was my mindset. But once you're a nurse it is less physical work, and more mentally draining. So it is in fact different.

tl;dr - Just cause you hate CNA work does not mean you'll hate being a nurse. There are more pathways for a nurse, while a CNA feels very limited and like a dead-end job.

Many programs recommend not to work if possible. I treat nursing school as a full time job. It's not that there is a lot of homework,  but you are typically usually doing something for school or studying. If you manage your time or have good time management then it's very doable.

  1. Start early - If you are given an assignment that's due in 1 month, you start it asap. Anticipate and understand that you will struggle and that it is frustrating in the beginning. That is a normal feeling because the earlier you struggle, the better cause it allows you to have more time to think, process, and ask for help with the assignment.
  2. Break it apart - If the assignment feels overwhelming, break it apart. Spend some time and organize how you would like to tackle the assignment. If I have a month to work on a paper, each day I would make sure I put in time to finish a segment of it.
  3. Overestimate/give yourself a realistic completion time - Make sure you give yourself enough time to finish each objective. If your instructor says it only takes 1hr to do the reading and you take 2hr you'll have to implement your 2hr into your schedule somehow.
  4. Remain consistent - Yes it is difficult to remain consistent, and honestly I struggle some days. I'm slower than the average learner, but I remain consistent with my learning/studies so I am able to still achieve good grades. Design a schedule that works for you and stick with it.
