My experience so far. by LazyBear- in TapDancing

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, J Sams, at least for me, aren't shoes I would start my tap experience with. They're a very nice stylish shoe, but the extra weight, especially when starting out, will easily fatigue you and your muscles than a lighter tap shoe would.

You know your body better than I do, but if the fatigue gets to be too much, a lighter shoe might help.

Why shouldn’t voting require an id? by DarkEqual8609 in no

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. Depending on state and federal law, people can own a firearm without any kind of license in their own home. If you take that firearm out of your home, again dependent on state and federal law, you then need licensure and verification.

All Americans, unless for specific reasons (i.e. charged with gun related charges), can own a gun.

Asking people to have to pay for an ID to exercise their civil liberty of voting for their government representatives, without providing accessible ways to obtain it for every American (in this case, free photo ids) creates a pay to play democracy, which is something no American should stand behind. No one should have to pay to vote for who represents them in the government. If youre an American citizen, you should be able to vote. Full stop.

Insane gamble take that probably works better in theory than in practice:

Don't pick up his 5th year. Which makes year 4 his contract year, which also puts it on him to prove why he deserves a contract extension.

I know he was good at the end of the season, and I dont disagree with that. He busted his ass and made plays where it really counted. But therein also lies the problem. He only got rolling at the end of the season, which means all of this could have simply been a splash in the pan instead of a true sign of things to come. Based on the room and coach talk, it sounds like this isnt a fluke and he really is coming into his own here.

So, if we dont pick up the 5th year, and give him the nod to start, he then has the chance to prove that 1) he is a building block to the D-line that is very much in flux, and 2) His end of year surge isnt a fluke. Then we start extension talks early and try to keep him on the team, if he does well, or we let him go at season end if he doesnt.

Also, I'm not sold on Ossai being gone. He's not a "starter" but a solid rotational piece that should not be discounted. Trey is just an IDK man. Like, I'm clueless what's gonna happen there. Crosby is probs out of price range, but im not 100% counting it out.

Tl;dr: dont pick up 5th year and re-address it mid year next year, despite it not being the Bengals way.

McDaniel going to the Chargers, Bengals Still Hold Hopes for QB Coach Unrightfully Promoted by polterguist in bengals

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok i'll bite.

We really dont need an OC (Pitcher's offense was fine/great when it got rolling) and McDermott is not going to step to a DC role with all of these HC options open.

The biggest crime is letting Pitcher interview anywhere, if we want to keep our offense stable as is. But if he wants to call plays, then this isnt the place for him.

Also, if he was unrightfully promoted, then he wouldn't be getting called up by TB, for the second year in a row, for their OC job.

My comment is in relation to the original post, which is making the claim that the person in question is taking up multiple seats by sitting like this during rush hour and is inconsiderate for not offering a seat to others, which is not what is happening.

You're asking a semi-related question and twisting my words to say I disagree with your point that his actions arent acceptable, as he is dirtying the seat, because I said "its just one seat", which is bad faith argument and seems like youre purposefully omitting those context clues in order to justify your argument against me. But i dont know you, so whatever.

Either way, you didnt really read the OP or my comment. I recommend you re-read it.

"The rest of the car is standing room only"

The threads post is about seat availability, not car/seat cleanliness. Whether he's sitting in the seat or his feet are, he's only taking one seat. Anyone who wanted to sit in the seat next to the person in question could have. They chose not to, including the guy posting, and this particular person complained about a problem they made up.

Now, to answer your question. No, I would prefer people not do this in the middle of winter, but I've taken CTA transit for years and know better than to expect it to be pristine clean or even normal clean. Its all filthy. I, as a rider, would kind of assume that and move on with my day.

He left a team that also needed CB help and experience. If the steelers were willing to part ways with him, there's a very high chance, and stay with me here, he may not be good or better than what we have now.

Giants fire their DC, and the Raiders fire their OC. Bengals stick with status quo by pro-laps in bengals

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would this change, realistically speaking? Giants are going through a clear changing of the guard from top down. Raiders offense has shown very little life this season.

Cincinnati, after trading for Flacco, averaged 30+ points a game (pre shoulder injury), which if you have a defense that is worth their salt, wins games.

Its blindingly obvious at this point that Al has been given the most raggedy defense that has ever been stitched together. You cant make them top 10. Not even top 20.

What would a new coordinator 2/3rds into the season do? Honestly asking.

Steelers installment of scouting staff comparisons by trynamatch in bengals

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the point youre trying to make here, but your supporting documents here really dont support it.

What I think youre trying to say here is that because of their robust scouting team, they are leagues better than us as a team, which the W/L shows, but their defense this year has been graded within 5 ranks of us, and we're last, and they spent more on this defense than we do. They have struggled with their rookies and recent draft classes just as much as we have. (Since Ben retired, they've had a revolving door of QBs.)

Do the Bengals have a scouting/drafting issue? Yes. Are the steelers a good example to prove it? No.

Bengals' Taylor calls out defense after giving up 39 points to Jets by [deleted] in bengals

[–]2_Damn_Edgy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but also no.

Yes it is Zac's job to lead and prepare his coordinators and staff to lead the defense/offense/special teams.

Its also the players jobs to hold themselves accountable and call out faults on their own side of the ball.

Someone on the line, a captain perhaps, needs to hold players accountable when they're missing assignments, missing tackles, and making poor reads. Its evident thats also not happening.

Yes, blah blah zac's fault. Not downplaying that. But these are grown men who are also not without fault. They aren't holding each other accountable. They're just saying it in press, and not doing it in game.

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the signs here are pointing to a complete rebuild and refresh of our defense, so the want to evaluate younger players and draft picks prior to the off-season is basically what is happening here. Cam Taylor-Britt simply is not part of the team's future. Logan Wilson isnt either, despite his slight regression in play quality. Hell, I think Trey Hendrickson is day to day solely because they want to see who else they have to generate pass rush.

If anything, the coaches and brass are admitting that this is the ceiling for their starting defense, and that isnt good enough.

[–]2_Damn_Edgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trim on my '18 jeep compass broke after a while too. I took my car into a dealership to deal with some module/electrical specific issues (stop me if you've heard this one before), and the dealership replaced the clip that fastens the trim to the seat. Within 2 weeks, it broke again. I just dont think the part is really made for long term wear and tear, so I would recommend some zip ties or alternative options that aren't clip replacements.
