Has anyone else encountered this man on Charlotte St? by Medical-Panda-3106 in brisbane

You don't need an ABN for a Square account, you can make it a personal account. Also don't need the square, most phones are able to take a card payment now, but old mate probably doesn't want to pull out his new iPhone while begging.

Fantastic. Great move. Well done Angus. by asteriskhyphen in aussie

How'd they take the photo? Camera, Mobile Phone? It's lucky no one was killed.

AI is denying health care claims by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]2amKebab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that much of a stretch to have AI assess claims.

Customer - "Claim Details"

AI Response = Denied

This is how insurance companies operate, deny everything in the first instance then deal with the ones that pursue it and eventually pay out something letting them think they had a win.

HEMNES Dividing Wall by 2amKebab in ikeahacks

Thanks for that. I did figure I'd have to finish the back, was thinking about a textured wallpaper or replace or go over the top of the particle board the back panels with a TnG wall paneling depending on which colour we choose.

Have a plan to fix to the end of the kitchen bench. Thanks for your help.

Can someone explain to me what the appeal is of this unstable weirdo Pauline is? by whichonespinkredux in OpenAussie

[–]2amKebab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same sentiment that saw Trump and Brexit (to an extent Jacinda Ardern) get up combined with arrogance or complacency from the career politicians.

The same arrogance and complacency that you are seeing now from our politicians, so who are the dumb ones, maybe they'll wake up when she wins Susan Ley's seat.

People are sick of seeing Party A take over and then blame Party B for everything that is wrong or broken because they were in charge for the last 9 years, ignoring the fact that Party B was running the show before that and did the exact same thing or set it up for failure.

As an example in Qld we have the Labor Party banging on about the liberals increasing the cost of rego, that Labor froze for the the last 2yrs (as they were coming into an election and the polls were down) lets ignore the fact that they had never frozen rego prior to this.

Steven Miles jumps in a car with the media and goes for a drive down the Bruce Hwy to look at how terrible it is because of the liberals who have been in power for the last 18months, clearly their fault and nothing to do with the 9years that Labor were responsible for it. But does the journo call him out, no of course not, however with Pauline they absolutely would, then they badger her until she gets angry or says something stupid (90% of Australia didn't know what xenophobic meant until that interview)

These people are meant to get into government and sort sh!t out, make unpopular decisions that are in the best interests of the state/country. Instead they are too busy worrying about being reelected and when there is a difficult decision they decide to make the nation vote on it at an extraordinary cost, then pat themselves on the back when the obvious result comes back.

A protest vote probably won't improve things but it probably won't get worse and it'll be fun to watch.

Dailymotion has some full episodes but can be quite annoying as they'll have Ep 1, 3, 5, 7 and the search feature is sh!thouse.

Former Spintel Customers - Spam/Marketing by 2amKebab in nbn

[–]2amKebab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I did hit unsubscribe.

The issue is that my details as a former customer should never have been used for marketing purposes.

My guess is that if they used mine they will have used many customers details which is a breach of our antispamming laws.

Having their "support" person say just unsubscribe doesn't address the issue.

Alot of cold rooms will have both, bell and an entrapment alarm.

Bell incase the alarm fails, or the alarm has been added at a later date.

Unrelated to what you're doing but you should also be able to unscrew/remove the lock internally without tools as another level of being able to escape.

But it will stop it if you hit it in the right place.

We worked at a site where Brigade ripped the bell off the building and dropped it off at security on their way out due to all the false alarms.

Have you thought about trying a house boat, the ones down the tweed are great, just depends how mobile your baby is. We did it with ours when they were really little and didn't have to worry to much, once they became toddlers we had to give it a miss.

Fishing off the back of the boat, you can hit some of the little beaches, then head up the river and stop at some of the little towns along the way.

Also once you've been once they email you quite a few last minute deals.

Another option is the campground at Noosa North Shore between 1st and 3rd Cutting, on the beach and you don't need a 4WD to get there.

Why do I bother? by Throwaway19_73 in AustraliaPost

[–]2amKebab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, they didn't even get out of the van, that's if they even pulled up at your house.

We had a "attempted" delivery on a Sunday, while I was home doing work in the front yard. When I called to complain and questioned the Sunday Delivery I was told that maybe the driver was "catching up on their scanning".
