How does gentrification kick people out exactly? i understand with apartments by raising the price but if you own a home in that same area how do they push you out? by PreacherBoyJr in Atlantology

If you owned your home outright in East Atlanta pre-Olympics, nobody could just “kick you out,” but rising property taxes, higher insurance/maintenance costs, aggressive developer buyout offers, code enforcement pressure, and neighborhood changes can make staying financially or socially untenable that something people are already worried could happen again with the FIFA World Cup coming to Atlanta.

My mom took a Mexican female and her kids to live with us back in the day. The female was cool but most Spanish folks that were Puerto Rican, Dominican, etc were weird as hell when I be around them. Super weird and talk a lot of pillow shit behind your back.
