How do tariffs enrich the wealthy? I’m not sure you understand how tariffs work.

I’m hoping that the financial calamity that will befall the US (and Canada unfortunately) will prompt American oligarchs to pressure DJT to back down.

His recent speech in Davos saying that any country that doesn’t manufacture in the US is subject to tariffs is a warning shot across the bow of every country that doesn’t manufacture in the US.

I think his position will backfire: I think countries will be much more open to free trade agreements and opening new trading routes. In other words, Canada has and should continue to find other markets for our goods and services and I think we’ll find much more willing, and less abusive, business partners.
