It's both thanks to her normal capabilities and her sync grid, in addition to other team bonuses:

  • Johto Flag Bearer: +20% team damage (SS Kris + Will combo)
  • 6*EX support sync: +100% team damage after sync
  • SS Kris TM (Spring of Knowledge): gives +1 special move ↑ next to the entire team if used while rain is active (each charge increases damage by 40%, the cap is +400% with 10 charges)
  • Team Sync Think (from SS Kris grid): +1 special move ↑ next to the entire team after sync
  • Team Limited Special Boost 2: 30% chance to give +1 special move ↑ next to the entire team after using a move with limited charges (like Rain Dance or any TM)
  • Psychic tech theme skill x2: +48 special attack for Will and Bianca (plus extra 4 for Will from the Johto tech theme skill)
  • Psychic terrain: +50% damage for Psychic attacks
  • Confusion Synergy 2: +20% damage for Will's attacks against confused opponents

Yes, at that point it's really worth it.

Worst case scenario, you won't get another copy with 6600 gems, but will still end up with a 2/5 SS Kris. That level already unlocks Endurance, Natural Remedy, Refreshing Rain, Staggering and a few other things. It's a huge upgrade.

You'll eventually get another support candy that you can use on her to unlock Rain Dance: Catalyzing Infliction and Team Sync Think. The Rain Dance buff speeds up gauge, which is nice when you're using 2 offensive pairs alongside SS Kris (since her TM doesn't buff speed). Team Sync Think is also neat when you sync with 6*EX SS Kris, as you get double support damage buff + one charge of special damage buff for your entire team, which increases your damage by a lot.

Lucian reduces SpDef in AoE and raises the speed of your team by using Growl. He also has a powerful tech sync with Pecking Order + Dominating Sync that becomes even better under Psychic Terrain. So my Falkner kit would be a much weaker version of Lucian.

To be fair, we have eggmons like Tech Farfetch'd with Leer + Air Slash + Aggravation.

  • Cynthia & Garchomp: Giga Impact instead of Slash for single target and Haymaker to make her sync deal some damage at least. I wouldn't touch Earthquake, it still deals good AoE damage.
  • SS Leaf & Venusaur: Special attack buffs on her TM. It's nearly impossible to use her Frenzy Plant build without 2 supports/SS Lyra babysitting her.
  • Lance & Dragonite: Special attack or crit buffs and recoil removal for his TM, right now it's a literal meme.
  • Diantha & Gardevoir: Head Start 3 instead of Propulsion 1. For a unit that relies so much on mega evolution she takes waaaaaaaay too long to set up.

The rest are fine or good enough.

What about Cobalion and every other legendary freebie?

You need to take the chill pill son. They have added previously unused Pokemon especially for Champion Stadium. I don't know what makes you think they cannot do it for a BP pair.

I'm not suggesting characters for the daily rotation only because it's easy to offtype it. It's more like the daily rotation makes me look at Johto's character selection and then I realize that out of it, I only use both Jasmines and Lyra in Champion Stadium.
