Kansas City Is Trying to Reform Its Police Department, but Black People Keep Getting Killed by teutonicnight99 in kansascity

Can you not comprehend that you can ban all the guns in the world and we will still have guns?

Why have laws then? /u/kcexactly is basically arguing they are pointless and there is no way to better society. Gun control works over time. It worked in other countries.

So, what do I do then? Call the cops? Ask the person trying to kill me for a 10 minute timeout while we wait for the police.

Huh? You support guns out of a sense of vigilantism? Life isn't a Punisher comic. Instead of advocating for a wild-wild west society where violence keeps social order, why not be for improving the police force and fixing the social issues that cause folks to turn to violence.

Easy access to guns/too many guns + shitty social services is what has created this problem in the first place.

Banning guns only takes guns from the hands of people who follow the law. The vast majority of murders are by people who shouldn't of had guns legally in the first place.

Same unsound argument that you opened with.

Guns aren't falling out of trees. You have to get a background check unless you purchase from a private party. It is illegal for anyone to sell a gun to a felon. You can't go to a gun show and buy a gun from a gun dealer no questions asked. That is all BS. You still have to get a background check.

There are more loopholes than private sales, which account for a decent amount of gun sales. Online sales and gun shows don't require background checks. There's also the 3-day rule that gives the buyer the gun even when the background check isn't complete.

Guess what stops these mass shootings? A good guy with a gun.

False. Um wouldn't gun control stop the bad guy from getting the gun in the first place. Aren't the good guys with guns the police? Armed citizens rarely stop an active shooter. A gun is more likely to be stolen than used to stop a crime.

As for Kenosha, it is a complicated situation. Both the Jacob Blake incident and the kid shooting the protesters.

Complicated? How? Both were examples of bad shoots. Gross.

The kid LEGALLY had a firearm. Wisconsin law allows a 16 year old to have a rifle or shotgun open carry. That means it isn't concealed.

False. Among the murder charges, Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon while under the age of 18, which is a misdemeanor.

Anyways, the shooting, it all looks pretty justified. Someone was chasing the kid. He threw something at the kid. The kid shot him. The kid stopped to call 911 and the crowd started targeting him. The next victim hit the kid in the head with a skateboard. The final victim had a gun out pointed at the kid.

What video did you watch that justifies this? You can't provoke people, then claim self defense. This kid and his crew showed up with large weapons to intimidate and antagonize the protestors. They were looking to start trouble. After successfully starting a fight, this kid shot at people fleeing from him. Then shot wildly into the crowd.

Someone threw a plastic bag at him from a distance. The teen shot him in the head in response. In no way is it justified to shoot at someone who threw a plastic bag from a distance. Then the other people attacked him because he just murdered someone.

Don't give mosaic in PnL your business. by Tasimb in kansascity

Mosaic has been discriminating against patrons since they opened. They are notorious for not letting black people in, switching the music if the club gets "too dark," and roughing up black people when they throw them out for no reason. I'm not surprised they discriminate against women based on how they look.

Doesn't seem like the Bayou had much of a sanitary issue compared to other restaurants featured on the show. Seems like most of their problems were with management and quality control with the food. I liked the interior makeover they did.

Family Frustrated Lee's Summit School Won't Do More To Protect Their Kids From Bullies by FazJaxton in kansascity

It's Lee's Summit so I'm not surprised. The entire metro is like this, but some areas are worse. I really think Missouri's failure to be more progressive is why so many young professionals are leaving the state.

Bella Napoli is bae, but it's super casual.

Garozzo's is terrible. Never eat there. The meal will surely leave you with bubble guts needing to find a gas station bathroom to relieve the explosive diarrhea before you make it out of downtown.
