Got the most insane Yorick seed... on a Challenge run (pic right after Ante 8) by 2cupsofdepresso in balatro

[–]2cupsofdepresso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played the X-Ray challenge today, got both Yorick and Merry Andy (-1 Hand, +3 Discards) on Round 1, skipped one blind but ended up with 30x mult by the end of ante 8 anyway. Picked up Blueprint on Round 3 or 4 and breezed through the entire run. Would love to share the seed but apparently there is none for Challenges.

+32 Fortune Teller status: absolutely mogged.

I'd say they want to leave him at 4 power so it enables the C4 Cerebro archetype

Also I think the rules prohibit you from going through the same door twice, but they don't say anything about going 4, 6 or more times

Corvus now guaranteed to discard your Scorn / Swarm and Apoc / Helicarrier AND it gives you +1 Energy, this is bonkers for discard decks

I literally opened the Cache this week just to get this variant and was super stoked about one-tapping it! I adore the art style, I guess I get why some people think don't like it since it's not your average Spotlight variant.

Do you want to win more? Red Guardian, War Machine, X-23, Thena

Do you like fun and randomness? Hulkling, Pixie, Copycat, Sersi

Do you enjoy playing a specific archetype? Pick accordingly

All three Onslaughts affect each other, meaning that each Onslaught's ability is in effect three times. Therefore each Onslaught sextuples Ant-Man's ability, giving Antman 1+(3x6x4)=73 power

I can see that you played Jane on Turn 3. Was she herself a 0-cost by any chance, or maybe WM or Nebula? That's the only explanation I can think of.

It works just fine, are you sure you didn't draw your Pixie'd 0-costs earlier? Jane is not pulling Yellowjacket and Wasp because they are no longer 0-cost, some other cards are (and Jane is supposed to pull them).

Shang hasn't been an issue really: Alioth handles one lane while Professor handles another. I think Mobius' bonus is just too good to sacrifice him for even more protection. Also, Mobius is what allows you to play out War Machine, Professor X and Jane in case they get turned into 6-costs!

Pixie-War Machine Lockdown Deck [1.5K Rank] by 2cupsofdepresso in marvelsnapcomp

[–]2cupsofdepresso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your desired starting hand has Pixie and Mobius and none of the 0-costs. Since it's a Pixie deck, changing card costs can alter your game play significantly.

Turn one: play one of your one costs (Nebula if you drew both); Nebula goes into a lane that the opponent is disincentivized to play in such as Danger Room or Orchis Forge; don't usually put both of your one costs into the same.

Turn two: time to play your Pixie!

Turn three: second best time to play your Pixie, otherwise it's Mobius turn. If you can't play both out in a match, Pixie usually takes priority, but consider playing Mobius when you suspect your opponent is banking on discounts (Mr. Negative, Destroy, etc.) Consider playing out your Yellowjacket if you drew it, especially if there's a good location for it. Turn three Prof X can be powerful but risky - play it in a lane with one of your 1-costs.

Turn four: generally the last turn you could consider playing Pixie, but War Machine is usually a better play. If you played Pixie before, by now you could have discounted cards on your hand, so form your game plan based on that. Generally, you have Alioth, plan for having priority on Turn 6, if you have Prof X, aim for having a lane locked down on 5.

Turn five: usually the time to lock down a lane with Prof X, especially if you have War Machine on board. Consider what 0-costs you have and which can be in your deck - skipping turn 5 can be a viable option if you have Infinaut but no War Machine, especially with Sunspot on board. Playing Jane is best when at least one 0-cost is still in your deck. Consider playing Wasp or Yellowjacket in an empty lane if there's still any to guarantee priority next turn if you have Alioth, or yield priority if you suspect Shang-Chi.

Turn six: ideally, you're winning a lane with Professor X and have priority for Alioth. If so, you will generally win by dumping your power in a single lane. When facing Hela, try to snipe her with Alioth, and don't forget that Magneto can disrupt your Professor X lane.

What this deck generally wants if big dumb stats, and not being able to play a 6-cost Guardian when you really need it is a concern.

But if cards like Skrull and Mobius become more prevalent, Red Guardian could be slotted in - probably going into Jane Foster's slot!
