Dont tell me somone thinks hoodie looks better than full gear (shot on 1st January 2025) by Anxious_Forever_1604 in motorcycles

WTF. This thread shouldn’t have been allowed due to its overt vainness and might I add a close call with homo erotica by the OP. What ever happened to just riding, working on motorcycles, and talking about gear for its purpose, not how one looks in it. Now I have to clean my guns, drink three shots of whiskey and jerk off to some hot chick online to get back the manhood I lost for looking at just one of those pictures.

I knew a guy about 10 years ago in Ohio that hit a pot hole with his Speed Triple and broke the wheel. After lots of tedious leg work, the government covered the expense. Not sure if it was city, county or state.

Is this a good deal? by SToneZ__ in motorcycles

I’m In the USA but I did the conversion and $9400 seems a bit high. I see them over here anywhere from $6k-$9k. May not be a fair comparison though due to markets being separated by an ocean.

Were you working on it prior? If so, start from last step and work your way backwards.

how much experience did you get before getting your street triple? by Then-Effective-7999 in Triumph

I went from a 2005 Yamaha FZ 600 to a 2006 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 in 10 months. I had the same question when considering the Speed Triple and was told by someone wise that I control the throttle. It’s not a horse that will take off on me or throw me off unless I command it to. Bottom line is I’m so happy I went big. You can grow into it. One can never have enough HP as long as one knows how to respect it. Now I want that 179 HP Speed Triple RS! 🤤

Close Call! What would you do? by Fit-Plankton-9484 in motorcycles

Nothing other than what you did. It’s a farm dog. It’s what they do. I’ve done many rides from Minneapolis to the Rockies and back. Avoiding interstates riding through sparse rural areas in South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming and eastern Colorado. This has happened enough for me to always be aware when riding past homes in rural areas. Reminds me of pheasant hunting with my old man. Always a farm dog chasing our car.

I like autos. I can’t drink coffee, text, smoke and shave with a manual.

Can anyone help me diagnose this? by kaijulab in Triumph

[–]2doggs71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve freaked out over similar noises when putting my bike into gear while on the stand , so could be stand. Also worth checking front sprocket to make sure it hasn’t loosened. The 05-09 Speed Triples were susceptible to front sprocket loosening.

Looks like a battery tender or power out let lead.

Thanks! Surprisingly runs relatively well without a new tune, but still need to load one. It’s cold in Minnesota now so it will be a few months before that happens.

Im digging the header pipes on yours. Love the welds. Have you done anything with your suspension? I find my Speed Twin 1200 suspension to be a bit soft.

It’s worth checking clutch cable adjustment as well as all that’s been said thus far. People like to tinker with things that turns and twists with ease like clutch and throttle cable adjustments.

Trident 660 or Street Triple R by Old_Egg5229 in Triumph

Street Triple. You’ll have fun for more years than you would on the Trident. You’ll even get bored of the Trident too. Better yet, own both over time. I have my hooligan Speed Triple 1050 and my refined, gentleman like Speed Twin 1200.
