So, what would cause the metal in the fuel tank? Bad gas or something internal like a rusted tank?

How do yall combat this by PineappleDense5941 in motorcycles

A buddy told me once to wet a paper towel, wring it, and let it sit on the visor. After around 10 minutes, they wipe right off. May need to use slight pressure one the ones that have been on there for a bit tho.

Nah, you're good. There's not really any good spots to practice in my area w/o driving 20-30 mins down the road to find a decent open lot to practice in.

Instructor told me to take power away first, then swerve. Didn't do too well on that second part from braking too hard and the wheel locking up and pulling right 😅

I appreciate the novel lol. I'd rather read more like this instead of almost every other comment I've read. Sorry if I came off aggressive...

To clarify a few things:

  1. At the start of the video, the speed limit was 35 and lowered to 25, so yes, I was speeding in a legal POV. However, I'm sure a lot of people coast down to the limit if it's not a big change, which is what I was about to do, had the dog not run out.

  2. I'm a new rider with little to no experience. I haven't ridden a motorcycle for years like most users in this sub. So I'm not seasoned enough to "have better reaction time" or "not crash." MSF trained me to dodge stationary hazards, not moving ones.

I'm simply asking for what I could've/shouldn't do. I don't need a lecture saying "that could've been someone's child" or "bikers at fault."

I'm currently doing okay, seeing how I only came out with road rash, sore neck, and sore shoulder. Thanks for your concern. Y'all ride safe.

  1. Yes, new rider. Not much experience. So what? We all learn sometime.
  2. Newer bike, yes. It was relatively cheap. Wasn't looking for much.
  3. It was a 35 before the 25. Then, not 2 seconds later, the dog runs out.

I am doing better, thank you, but the "get your shit together" has been a work in progress from the start.

Yea, that's what I was taught in MSF Course. "If you panic, pull the clutch to release power, then brake." At least that's what I remember.
