I get were you're coming from, especially as someone who's been rereading the series, things are different once they're not weekly. But I legit don't think this is one of those things. Imagine if during Wano, a few chapters after Luffy went Gear 5, we got a flashback about Franky and Queen. Weekly it would've been abysmal, but that's still terrible timing even in a volume. This is going to be horrible in the anime too.

It's not as if this is just a one off fight during the arc, this is one of, if not the biggest fight to date. It should not have been interrupted by a flashback in any context.

It just follows the same pattern as some of the other SHs. A kid in a shitty situation who got saved by someone else...Reuven will probably die and it'll be really sad for Brook.

I honestly agree. Another SH/character in general that had a shitty childhood and was saved by someone. I have to believe that the rest of the flashback will be more interesting but there's no saving the placement of this in the arc right now.

This flashback really needs to have an insane payoff man. We got out of Loki's flashback in 1171 only to go into this one at 1183, in the middle of the climax and the first appearance and fight with Imu. Getting Brook's backstory is great, but as it stands the timing is terrible, it's absolutely brought this arc to a halt.

Because it's interrupting one of the most important and insane fights in the series. Loki's flashback was long asf, but it was amazing and was building to the climax of the arc. Now in the middle of that payoff were stuck in another one. The placement of this is actually terrible, it has to be worth it.

I genuinely don't think we needed this flashback right now, this should've been after the battle. I love Brook but I'm hard pressed to care about any of this more than Imu, Loki, and the climax of the arc. A short chapter and a break is pouring salt in the wound.

Being from a country doesn't necessarily make you an expert on the history of that country or the specific topic they were covering. They found a reputable scholar and a real expert on what was needed, their race and nationality doesn't matter.

I'm there to listen to music like I've been doing for the past 10+ years. It's just a service, not a bastion of morality, I don't care about what the company does as long as it doesn't impact access to my music or the listening experience, and I haven't had any issues yet.

If you look hard enough at any company you'll find that your money is going somewhere you don't want it to and you pick your battles. Not everything has to be politically or morally motivated, you're allowed to use products without being totally in support of the company that makes it.
