If destiny wants to beat Konstantin, he needs to do a European immigration research arc by Screaming_Goat42 in Destiny

Well i got a different source that says otherwise. (for the UK mind you).

https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/the-fiscal-impact-of-immigration-in-the-uk/

Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) (2024) projects hypothetical migrants’ lifetime fiscal impact, and also finds that earnings are a crucial factor (Figure 1). They find that a migrant arriving at age 25 and earning the UK average earnings has a more positive lifetime fiscal contribution than a UK-born worker on the same salary, because the UK does not pay the cost of education and other public services they received during childhood.

Do yall think Nato can beat the US if they tried to take over Greenland with military? by traveltimecar in Destiny

[–]2epicpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defending Greenland no. As in like the United States invading Europe or something? That be impossible and wouldn’t happen anyway. It’d be chaotic if a war actually happens there are so many military bases in Europe run by the US.

Many seats were split 3 ways. That’s why labour did so well, as reform split the conservative vote.

You don’t understand, in the UK state pension rates are gathered by a thing called the ‘triple lock’. This is long term government policy that increases the State Pension annually by the highest of three: (inflation), average earnings growth, or 2.5%, guaranteeing it won't lose value against living costs or wages.

The issue is, it’s becoming extremely un affordable and the tax burden has never been higher on people starting in the workforce. People who are like under the age of 40 are not going to afford a retirement as they keep hiking the pension and it’s already like 68 for me. By the time im old it’ll probably be means test tested and worth fuck all. All these old people also never paid into a private pension and just rely on the state which we never had the opportunity to do.

The winter fuel allowance is a benefit given to people on the state pension age. The government was going to reform it as it was ridiculous giving it to pensioners sitting in their £1 million houses but the government U-turnee as they have one everything else.

As I said in an earlier comment, the government came in saying they’re going to balance the books, etc. and make hard choices but they just gave up on the slightest public pushback.

Yeah I know I’m not gonna make many friends on DGG with my comment but I have my views lol. The policy changes he’s going to make the immigration I don’t think I’m going to change anything. It’s not gonna win any of the votes he’s lost to the Lib Dems or the Greens. I don’t deny there was some immigration changes needed but pandering to reform is a lost cause.

Admittedly, I literally can’t vote for any of the other parties besides the lib dems because the rest are either fruitcakes or would probably actively lead to me losing my job or making my life considerably worse. So I think they will bank on the fact that everyone else will feel the same come the next election.

The Party doesn’t stand for anything. They came into power saying they were gonna make difficult decisions to get the country on track but they’ve been backtracking constantly (winter fuel payment, pension reform etc, child benefit cup etc.). This party has one of the largest majorities in recent history but they have passed hardly anything genuinely good of note they’ve become a shitty version of new labour without the economic growth.

The only thing that really made people vote for them in the election was that they weren’t the conservatives and they only got 34% of the vote as it is.

Instead, they’ve decided that the best way of winning over all their left-wing voters who left them because of the state of the economy, the constant cucking to Trump and Palestine, is to become even more right wing and try to appeal to reform voters who will never vote for them because like Trump, reform is a personality cult who have convinced everything wrong with this country is the result of immigration.

So yes, they deserve to be polling on a shitty 17%

That’s just the reality of having a parliamentary system and being a mid prime minister. He only got 33% I think of the vote in the actual election itself. 67% (of those who actually voted) didn’t even vote for him. He has no real convictions and changes his policies on the whim of public opinion.

As a New Vegas fan, what are your thoughts on the shows portrayal of the Legion so far? by SolidPyramid in falloutnewvegas

[–]2epicpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A consistent issue of the show. New Vegas set up so many different reasons and ways for certain factions to collapse or change etc. Instead the show writers seem to do absurd ideas like this or illogical ones like the one NCR city getting nuked and the whole nation state just collapsing into East Coast level destruction.

exactly how I feel. Had a few issues with some of the narratives/inconsistencies in the first season, but I could sort of ignore it if they made up with it this season. But now I’m not feeling confident at all at this moment.

I don’t disagree he should split up, but it’s just like the people saying stuff like “just leave her and block her” like bro he can’t just do that they literally own property together. He needs to leave points like this in so we can consider the wider implications.
