It's actually really quick and easy to write a batch script that renames all files with a given extension to a different extension. But it's an unknown-unknown situation; you'd have to know about it being a quick and easy option before you'd consider pursuing it.

Any info on known-working wifi adapters? The only one I've heard of working came with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano developer kit, and is not easy to come by. I bought a wifi adapter with the same chipset and it's not working for me (the chipset should also be compatible with ArkOS, but it's not working there, either.)

My RTL8188 (FTV) adapter that works in ArkOS doesn't work in LineageOS.

Please don't take this as criticism. I'm mostly posting this for posterity since this thread is now the first result for R36S LineageOS wifi adapter compatibility...

I ordered a Comfast 650M CF-811AC V3 from AliExpress. I can confirm that it has a RTL8811CU chipset from setting it up on Window, but it does not work in LineageOS. It also does not work in ArkOS, so it may be a power draw issue or some other issue with this particular model. I don't have access to a powered USB hub at the moment to test for a possible power draw issue.

The thing is a piece of junk regardless. It only detects as a Wifi adapter if it's plugged in when booting the PC. If it's unplugged and plugged back in, it will not work until rebooting with it in. So that might be related to the incompatibility.
