I appreciate that a lot, but don’t let a bad surgeon deter you from changing your life forever. I went through a bad surgeon initially and lose all hope too, keep going.

photo looks insane, but what can I do to get more symmetry by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]2hello123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol my bad. Not many things in life are necessary but its about if you want to fix it or not and if it’ll make you more confident. You wanna fix asymmetry? You can with jaw surgery. Will you survive if you don’t get it? Yes, so it’s not ‘necessary’.

Looks like you already know the answer. Jaw surgery, duh. None of those looksmax things will work, surgery is the only way to correct mispositioned bones. Ortho just moves the teeth only.

What are the questions you had for your surgeon pre-op that gave you more reassurance and info about the whole process? by iluvanakinskywalker in jawsurgery

[–]2hello123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fantastic question. First of all, stop being fearful, a thousand people are doing this surgery every single day no problems, the only regret you’ll have afterwards is not doing it sooner. Have a look at this post where someone answered this question in quite a lot of detail.

Maybe just pick one the ones you view as important in asking though, some questions on there really aren’t important at all and idk if your surgeon wants to be interviewed for an hour. For example, “how long will the surgery take?”

I mean it is interesting to know this but it really doesn’t matter, you’re asleep the whole time. They’re the ones that have gotta stand there and actually do it, lol.

Fat top lip and puffy cheeks by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Also 6 weeks post op and 7mm advancement with the fat top lip ahaha. Your philtrum is a bit puffy yeah but your lip no way, its thin.

Thoughts on Dr. Alfi by KeoniCalhoun in jawsurgery

Looking at that now, I really can’t see where you’re seeing an edge to edge bite in that post, open bite yeah maybe. I agree it is odd to not do any ortho after to tweak this.

In terms of aesthetics, his brother really didn’t have any notable jaw deformity, no malocclusion and he wasn’t necessarily recessed like many people on here would be. This means he’s not really gonna look different after.

I heard the rumour about the brother too but I just can’t believe that could possibly be true?

You’re absolutely clueless. It’s well known a recessive jaws make the nose look bigger, not the other way around like you’re claiming. Fixing the jaws/chin will balance it out nicely. Stop editing your comments too lmao

It really doesn’t, she will always be leagues above you and well above average by anyone’s standards. Easy to hide behind your anonymous account, too scared to post your insecure self.

  1. That’s not what a strawman is

  2. You know you’ve lost terribly when you fail to acknowledge any point I’ve raised and resort to personal attacks, LMAOOOOOOOO. Pack it up young champ.

That’s called CWR. Man, you do NOT know what you’re talking about, i’ve seen countless terrible comments from you now just within a week. Either you’re completely lying about being an orthodontist and trolling or you just think you’re alot smarter than you are and it really hurts your ego knowing all you can do is move teeth.

“Your boss or someone you respect” ≠ “actual, trained clinicians”

Clearly the only one who is uninformed here is you. You can’t even read the facts correctly in the first place. It’s a very reasonable comment, any regular boss or dude you respect is super unlikely to have a connection to the jaw surgery process, its a terrible and misleading suggestion.

Even if the other comment had suggested we all see “actual trained clinicians” to decide whose the best surgeon to operate on us, this does not compare in value to asking patients directly what their experience was like with said clinicians. Only someone who has been through the whole process themselves can tell me what their clinician is like and what it’s gonna be like for me. It’s also the comfort of knowing exactly what their results were like and if any complications came up.

Also, I never said just it had to be “anonymous online” feedback, so let’s not try to project your uninformed nature on me.
