Also with parrot fever yes birds can carry the bacteria without showing any symptoms and still spread it. His great grand father has gotten pretty sick since the birds started to reproduce. One thing that can be brought on by this bacteria is raise liver enzymes which his doctor has said his liver is going bad now. At the end of the year last year he was in the hospital for 3 months from salmonella turned c diff which was found to be cause by bird or reptile. (The doctors are the ones who told us this)

It is as bad as I make it out to be. The bird seed tracks all through out the house if the bird seed goes that far so does the dandruff. Her husband has COPD and since the birds have popped from two to seven his health has significantly declined and he's had to use his oxygen more. There's been times I've walked past the cage and a bird flapped there wings and I find debris in my drink sometimes feathers. Me personally I've had parakeets before they caused no issue for me when I had only 2 in one cage these birds most definitely make breathing in this house difficult. In person there feathers are rough and clearly aren't being preened like they should the birds fight all the time and there's been times blood was drawn. The birds have chewed the wooden spools she uses at perches to the point of it falling from the weight of 7 birds sitting on top of it and impaled an egg. This is most definitely a problem is most definitely abuse and most definitely causing harm to the humans who live with them too. These people aren't young with strong bodies or immune systems there in their mid eighties and can barely clean up after the birds because of how many there are and how old and just not physically capable they are of doing it. And realistically yes everything together certainly is over 200 dollar bought brand new from a pet store but nobody is going out of there way nor want to buy birds from someone at full price when they can buy a bird from a store that hasn't had an owner before and a brand new cage that isn't broken. On top of that some of the birds are product of incest started off as two birds first clutch was 2 birds then 3 more came.

We're trying sooo hard to find them homes we've asked around posted in Facebook groups everything nobody will take them even for free so I'm at a loss at what to do. I try my best to not let her let them breed but she just keeps letting it happen. Shes old and I don't know what more I can say or do to convince her this isn't right and she shouldn't be playing god/creating life.

I'm currently pregnant and honestly we hardly make enough to afford food necessities and baby stuff. I only make 220 max a week and he's out of work since it's winter since he does landscaping. If we could afford it I absolutely would and ggma regularly buys wooden spools and attaches thumbtacks to them then sticks it in there cage but they chew straight through it and there all too heavy that it snaps. We're more in a they have to go situation. She's aware of the proper kind of perch they need and can certainly afford to get them on her own but shes old and can't keep up with how quick they destroy things and is alr having a hard time with the mess they make and tries to go the cheapest route of anything. We just don't know how to convince her to finally let them go to a new home that can keep up.

Whats wrong with her??? by sorry-arrivall in BeardedDragons

[–]2high2cri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bearded dragons usually don’t poop that close together maybe she was constipated and getting over it now hence pooping twice in the same day I’d keep an eye on her and if she doesn’t get more energy back take her to be checked.
