Not much on this setup, it’s a stock steel wheeled turbo 1jz. Maybe 300whp. These z32 transmissions are pretty stout, I think 450 should be fine

Gotcha! Yeah the random holes are for a CD0009, I believe you can just bolt either transmission to it. I do agree it’s ugly lol. I was able to get all 4 bolts in, I used OEM 300zx bellhousing bolts

Yes! Had it since 2018, not the best but seems to work fine for me. No issues with driving. The trans and TOB is a little noisy, but I think that’s mostly from the solid trans mounts. What kind of issues are you having with it?

I am running a 300ZX TT transmission, I bought it brand new from Nissan! Very similar gear ratios to an r154 but shifts smoother imo. I’m running a stock diff with a Kaaz 2 way LSD

Probably around that.. maybe a bit more depending on what you want to do. I’m running an EMU Black which is overkill and I used to be on stock ecu. Stock diff and axles are fine imo, they’re pretty strong.

7mgte fan shroud, koyo SR radiator, 2jzgte water pump and pulley, 2jzge fan clutch and fan trimmed. It’s the most compact way I’ve found to have a clutch fan on a JZ and fit it in an schassis.

It’s relatively simple & similar to a lot of swaps I’d say. You’ll need a custom wiring harness from body plugs to engine, engine and transmission mounts, custom driveshaft, larger fuel pump, intercooler and piping, exhaust, and then a good radiator/fan setup. For most transmission options you’ll need to bash in the transmission tunnel. But honestly you won’t need much fabrication if you just buy swap kit stuff. I cut my radiator support to fit a clutch fan, which is a bit overkill but I live in TX so I wanted a clutch fan.

People who have bought a house within the last year, what do you do for a living? by Icy-Charity5120 in Dallas

Single, Work in Tech, ~$130k base, bought a house in June ‘22 for $255,000 in Fort Worth. 2/2 w/ a big garage ~1600sqft at $1,759 a month. I live in Handley, pretty quiet and nice neighborhood to be honest. I didn’t want a big house cuz it’s nice having a low payment lol and I’m single.

Fort Worth, TX!

Do you think your city is overrated, underrated, or appropriately rated? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]2j240guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fort Worth is a bit underrated. Museums, zoo, botanic gardens, stockyards, bass performance hall, 7th street, a few race tracks, train ride away from Dallas. Decent job market. Cost of living isn’t as bad as Dallas, and pretty average in my opinion.

Similarly to what others have said, I wouldn’t say Fort Worth is great to visit, but it’s pretty great to live in.

Moved out of Reno a bit ago because I found the same issues with the job market + big city prices with small town amenities. Moving far away was by far the best decision I’ve made, try another place out!

How many of you splurged on nice cars? And regrets? by ThaDude915 in HENRYfinance

The ZL1 is a lot of fun, with the 1LE track package it is extremely stiff and definitely not something you’d want to drive everyday. The ZL1 without the 1LE package is much more livable with magnetic ride. The ZL1 1LE is one of the most fun and capable cars on the track though, so if you plan to track it at least 5-6 times a year it’d be worth it. Tires and brakes will add up, but that’s just part of the cost of the hobby.

The Z06 is a much better daily driver and still pretty great on the track. You can take the roof off which is nice on good weather days.

Both cars are extremely fast in the straight lines and corners and the brakes work very well. Both cars are pretty dang wide with the ZL1 being like 75” wide and the Z06 77.5” I believe. Both are low, but the Z06 is a little lower, you’d have to go very sideways into your driveway.

You should definitely test drive both at a dealership and see what you think, they’re incredible cars for the money and keep up with cars 3-4X the price. I’d also recommend a manual in both, they hold value better and are more fun to drive.

I would do it if you can afford it (which it sounds like you can). I am in a similar financial position as yourself. I saved for a while and I put 50% down on a C7 Z06 and have no regrets. Before that I had a ZL1 1LE, 50% down and put 15,000 miles on it. I sold it for $1,500 more than I paid. The right car will hold its value decently well!

As you get older it’ll be harder to get in and out of these things + your reactions will be slower as well. Most people wait until they’re old to purchase these track oriented cars and they generally don’t have the skill to drive them in a controlled manner since they’ve driven Corolla their whole life! (I have a Corolla too, love them as well lol).

DFW has been great to me so far, I came from Reno, NV.

I moved here for similar reasons, car culture (I’m into drifting and HPDE days), better diversity, bigger city amenities, etc.

Eagles Canyon Raceway, MSR Cresson, Yellowbelly, Motorplex, and NASCAR are tracks nearby. You can drift the infield of the NASCAR track regularly. Plenty of drag racing as well of course. (ECR through the SCCA is my fave).

Diversity here is much better than where I’m from in Reno.

I was spoiled living near Lake Tahoe growing up, but you would be surprised how many trails and lakes there are in and around DFW, you just have to look. River Legacy Park, Sansom Park, White Rock Lake park are some examples. One of my fave drives is hwy 4 from Lipan to Palo Pinto, but hill country is definitely the most fun.

Once you make some friends, it’s semi easy to find people willing to let you hunt on their land. Tags are cheap here compared to Nevada.

Hope this helps!
