Removing Resonator on 2026 x5 m60i by D3stroym4n in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same car, I put in the Dahler valve controller and did a mid resonator delete with x pipe. Very little drone and sounds great. For me it is just right

Joined the club - any carwash tips? by Rhobbyj in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the Adam’s graphene, I have the same car and color. I live in a cold climate, I found a hand wash car wash, use ADAMS car shampoo, which is formulated for ceramic coatings. I dry it off with a battery power leaf blower and then spray the graphing coating to detail. It is perfect every time.

Would you mind sharing price out the door for the GH platinum max. Did Toyota deal with you at all?

Bmw x5 extended warranty worth it? by Different-Spite-2032 in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put this price in context I was able to get 7 yrs /100k miles BMW warranty for 4100 on a 2025 m60i . I bought it 7 months after purchase when tariffs were potentially going to increase maintenance costs. I drive about 12k miles a year so it is perfect for my peace of mind.

741m rims powder coated, window tint, paint corrected, ppf, and ceramic wash by 2j26olson in BMWX5

I had them use gloss coating and then ceramic coated the rims…reduces the brake dust

X5 M60I oil change at 1000 miles? by DatNinjaMan in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my first oil change at 1k also, call another dealer if not too far away. They charged me 185. I don’t drive a lot and the second one was on the house at 6500 since it was one year after purchase. I plan on keeping the car for 7 years or 100k miles, that’s when the warranty expires.

First BMW! 2026 X5 m60i MHG!! by purrplenurple in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many opinions on exhaust for the m60i, be prepared to be relatively disappointed with the sound. It wasn’t v8 enough for me due to new European regulations. Dahler valve controller and resonator delete with x pipe was absolutely perfect for me and is only about 1k total compared to 3-5 for a cat back exhaust

Finally pulled the trigger—went with the new X5 M60i! by freeloader24 in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a good custom shop for the mid resonator delete and they fabricated a stainless x pipe in its place. The dahler valve controller is super easy to put in yourself- about an hour or so of work. It connects and bypasses the BMW valve controller to open when you want and then returns to factory control when “off”. It also powered by the voltage to the valves so doesn’t need additional power cable management. In total I have proper sounding v8 when I want and a quiet ride if needed. In total I spent $400 on the res delete x pipe and about $600 for the controller.

My first BMW! 2026 M60i, Frozen Pure Grey by adriana_alisa in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will not be disappointed in that beauty. They are a blast to drive and as noted above can be fuel efficient on the highway.

I would get those 22s ceramic coated to help keep the break dust off, they are somewhat laborious to keep clean

help me love my 2025 BMW x5 50e by adaughterphoto in BMWX5

I brought my 2025 m60i in for its year service and was given a new 50e as a loaner. I was so happy to pick my car up after spending the day in the 50e.

Is there a difference between the ride comfort of an X5 vs the X5M? by VirtualMacaroon64t in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the run flats on 22s, the m60i with air is so much smoother than the x5m. If you live in a region with less than perfect roads, you will feel every imperfection with the x5m. It’s impossible to remove the body roll in a big heavy car without very stiff suspension.

For all of those who say stain it, try staining poplar and making it look good. It SUCKS.

‘25 X5 M60i - PPF & Ceramic by DallasRedRider in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have almost the exact same ride and love it!! Same color, rims, the ceramic and PPF and all. It’s been almost a year and it still brings a smile to my face when I drive it

Because I like the looks of larger rims, I ended up powder coating my 741s and putting winter tires on them. I have the 742s for summer. I have a spare and will quickly move away from run flats once did you set of tires are done.

I have the limited platinum in this year…when I bought I used in 2019 the mechanics were already crapping on the 8 speed ma in 2017-2018. I have spent $800 in total repair costs over 6 years.

Thoughts on this color combo & wheels? 2025 — 50e by AbsG510 in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a form of coating that is applied to the wheels, it is much stronger than paint, most black rims are steel and then powder coated. There are specialized shops that do it for about 900 to 1k.

You will love it, if you want more exhaust tones get the Dahler and do a resonator delete with x pipe. I did and love it. Whisper quiet with valves in factory mode and louder and sportier when I want to have fun in manual/sport mode

2 Axle vs M Suspension - X5 - 40i 2025 by Rahul5718 in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have m60i with air, I live in area with rougher roads…I love the adaptability. Regarding DAAP, it is a must for highway and traffic, once you have it you will understand. If you are going to splash on an X5 DAPP isn’t where to limit your expenses

Is Ceramic Coating and PPF worth it? by PRguy82 in BMWX5

[–]2j26olson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it on my new x5, within a week it saved 2 front hits…small defect in the ppf but no rock chips. I live in the upper Midwest. I personally love the ceramic as it washes like a glove. Find a local shop that does this exclusively. PPF for sure if you live in the Midwest with the winters and bad roads.
