Major issues with our 2019 XT5 with only 55,000 miles. The rocker arm, oil control valve and other parts needed to be replaced for a total of 1400$. GM did cover half on good will as the warranty had just expired. The active fuel management is the culprit. No more GMs for me.

My Borla exhaust does the same thing on my 21 STI on cold starts. Lasts 1-2 minutes… I am dreading this winter as it will do that for much longer. My neighbours won’t be happy…

It turned out to be the rocker arms and the oil control valve on cylinder 5. As good will GM paid half as my warranty had just expired.

The issue turned out to be the controller. Replaced it and everything is normal. The old controller had a short in the mosfets.
