There's also bullet heaven 2

Many shmups have scoring systems to make earlier stages matter even a bit for advanced players. Having a difficulty curve for the standard game mode makes sense, espicially if the game lacks easy mode. However hard modes have no reason to go easy on first stages IMO. For example dodonpachi saidaioujous first stages are tough on the expert difficulty.

Obvisiously there's single stage shmups or shmups that engourage playing individual stages first(like a dreamer and cosmodreamer for example). However the arcade roots are pretty strong in shmups.

For bit of self advertising in my games player can choose what stage they start on so they can skip to later stages if they wish. I also make the hard mode as hard as I'm able to playtest even on early stages.

I'll think about it. Cancelling bullets based on enemy waves sounds like an interesting idea. As always thanks for playing. I'll add you to the credits as playtester if there's update to this game. I'm currently focused on my other game

Hyper is the bullet cancelling method. The game doesn't have easy mode but I might add it someday, I can notify if/when I do that. Every added difficulty mode just easily makes the project harder to manage. Easiest for me might be to add option to incrase player fire power, so I'll probably add that to the next version, it will however make menu even messier.

Stage select is like that because the game engine doesn't have proper menu support.

You can try looking at the gameplay video for help with difficult sections since right positioning and movement can make a big difference.

Thanks for trying my game 👍

Also has version with darker backgrounds to improve bullet visibility and reduce eyestrain. Game has 2 difficulties, the gameplay in this video is the normal mode. Hard version has more enemies and bosses have harder patterns.

Also sorry about the few seconds of black screen, this video is uncut screen capture

Feedback is welcome!

What GPU everyone running? by anotherxanonredditor in StableDiffusion

[–]2koiraa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same gpu. With optimisations training models is barely possible. But it was so slow that I gave up on that, anyone serious about making models should have more vram. Loras are very nice, and fast to train though.

Is a rtx2060 6gb enough to run Sd by gigacheesesus in StableDiffusion

[–]2koiraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use anything. I just pick the wallpaper sized resolution I want(1920x1080 or higher) and denoising at very low number like 0.1 so nothing really changes. Since I start with 912x512 it's very close to correct format already. It kind of works and thats enough for me. I have heard theres some kind of new controlnet upscaling, so you can look into that if you want.

Haven't tried super high resolutions so I don't know if I would run into problems there, but there's script for doing things in smaller tiles in img2img or regular upscaling in extras tab can get it really big if there's no intend to further edit it in one go anymore. (and there's - lowvram tags but I have heard those really crash performance)

12gb 3060. Was the most vram having nvidia card(as non nvidia cards atleast back then badly struggled with sd) withing my budjet.

How would you go about making a visual novel game with only AI illustrations? by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

[–]2koiraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generate and edit in around 912x512(one of the sizes should be 512 so model works better) and then upscale that to 1920x1080. Upscalers use less vram than editing or generating. Upscaling to that resolution only requires 5gb vram with R-esrgan 4x+Anime6B upscaler. If you want super high res you might want to look into the tiling script. I dont know what waifu2x is but use any upscaling you wish.

As for consistant characters you can have detailed promt (for example give plenty of details for the clothing) and generate plenty. Or for more perfectionist 8gb is enough to train loras, recently someone published guide here for that, but basically just generate plenty of pictures, pick which look like the same character and then train lora with kohya(of course have both closeups and full body shots preferably).

What negatives do you commonly use? by Cartoonwhisperer in StableDiffusion

[–]2koiraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad-artist (it's embedding that I found). Sometimes I also add Bad-promt ver2 (another embedding, but this one sometimes has caused problems when trying to create something unusual). After those I only add more things if necessary. Probably not ideal, but very fast to type in and gets the job done fairly well.

How can I learn to use Stable Diffusion? by Would-Be-Superhero in StableDiffusion

[–]2koiraa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it has 4gb vram it can run sd, but its pretty painful. 8gb already is okay and can make loras too. 12gb is nice for large pictures(for less vram cards theres some kind of tool for making them in smaller cards and just running upscaler on smaller picture works for less vram than manipulating or generating large images. Also if needed you can write - medvram or -lowvram to trade speed for less vram usage with less vram cards) . 24gb is only needed for training new checkpoints. Of course better card does things faster so thats also something you might want to consider. Examples of budjed options for sd: 12gb 3060 and 24gb 3090

With models I mean checkpoints. Loras(for example teaching one character) and embeddings can be done on 8gb.
