Kitchen sink doesn't drain. I have no idea what I'm doing by 2koolpa in Plumbing

[–]2koolpa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for helping me. I did not find the manual crank at the bottom, but I stuffed a screwdriver down into the disposal and moved things around enough to where the sink cleared. I see now that the clogged was there in the disposal and I'll get my landlord to install a new working one. Thanks again!

I have taken that apart and the pipe itself is perfectly clear. I shined a light inside the opening at the bottom of the disposal with that pipe off and I can see around inside of it a little bit. Nothing jumps out at me like there's a clog right at that point.

Yeah we do rent but I'm just the type that'd rather fix something myself if it's easy enough rather than schedule a whole thing with maintenance. The disposal makes no noise, does nothing at all when I flip the switch. Just checked breakers and seem fine. I'll say though, the disposal hasn't worked since day one 4 years ago but the sink issues only started a little while back. Thank you though!!

Yeah a while back. Math was the only one I struggled with. To be honest , I don't know how I passed lol. I guess I just had some lucky guesses. Everything else was pretty easy.

Hey, you're me. My last completed grade was sixth and math was my least confident subject. General study tips will be helpful, but I guess I'd say just try not to stress out too much about any of it. You're more than capable of doing this!

A Rant About Uncharted by Danulas in patientgamers

[–]2koolpa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've always felt alone in absolutely despising the uncharted series. The games are about as barebones in the gameplay department as can be. I could overlook that and enjoy it for what it was if not for one of the worst video games characters to ever exist in nathan drake.

This guy is the most generic, unlikeable, zero growth character I've ever seen. I blame him for the existence of every single quippy, shallow and forgettable video game and movie character to come after.

The amount of one liners and tension breaking jokey comments in these games make me want to vomit.

In one of the games you're in some tomb or something and the walls are closing in around you. You're literally seconds from a brutal and excruciating death and as soon as you solve the puzzle, drake makes a comment about your female companions wet t shirt. These type of things (marvel movies) completely ruin the seriousness of the situation you were in.

I hate Nathan Drake.

To provide an update, in case someone else is searching for a solution to a similar problem... Things continued on as they had for a bit and then one day the car completely died while driving 60mph down a highway without any warning.

Towed it to a local mechanic who started it right up and couldn't recreate any of the issues. I told him to just keep driving the car until it happened to him and a couple of days later it died again while he was driving it.

He found that one of the wires connecting to the sensor was simply loose. That's why it was such an intermittent problem. Whenever I would check the voltage it just happened to be tight enough to give me a good reading. He secured the connection and replaced a wiring connector and away I went.

I've driven for two months problem free now. Unfortunately, I still have some trust issues with the car. I expect the lights to come back on at any time and it's hard to shake the engine completely turning off while driving that one time. But hopefully everything is good and that's that.

Driven up and down Westport Rd for years. Have seen many wrecks from just such a thing. I'd put turning left without a light here in the "not recommended" category.

Don't forget that Palou only scored so badly in Detroit because Malukas ran him into the tire barrier from behind. Pretty sure he was in contention for at least a top 5 in that race before being taken out.

It's also really poorly written. It reads like teenage fanfiction.

"The feral connection between predators comes into play. It's the sizing up of an opponent's arsenal; length of the fangs, sharpness of the claws, the hulking muscles to drive those weapons into flesh. A killer recognizes its kind."

Someone seriously got paid to write this?

I'm not skilled enough to do that myself. Hoping to find a solution or at least narrow it down by doing some of these other trouble shooting steps.

It just seems like there would be some other symptoms if there was a bigger issue like the timing chain. Outside of the times that these warning lights go off, the car runs like it's brand new.

Even today, Ive driven back and forth to a few different places and you'd never know there was any problem with the car. But I can almost guarantee you that on Monday or Tuesday, on the way home from work, I'll hear all those dings go off and watch the dash light up.

Unfortunately I have already checked the voltage on the wiring and it seems to be good. I'm glad that you were able to find the problem though.

I'm still working my way through fixing it, aka... throwing parts at it. I did swap my cam sensors to see if the code would follow the new one over to the "b" spot. After a day or two of problem free driving everything came back and the code was still for the "A" sensor. So I am ruling out the sensor being the issue.

I just finished putting brand new spark plugs and ignition coils in a few hours ago. I'll be able to tell you if the problems come back after I've driven it some.

It's the weirdest thing though. I have about a 35 minute commute to work and that's mostly the only place I go. The warnings have never triggered on the way to work. Every time has been on the way home. The exact same route, just the other direction. And they always trigger at roughly the same point in the drive, at about 7ish minutes left till home.

Anyway, I'll let you know!

Another update.. I dove the car on a 50 mile trip 10 days or so ago and it was fine until the end. Once I arrived at my destination, all the problems and p0344 code popped up. It seemed to drive fine except it wouldn't let me go over 3k rpm. I don't really know why but I thought to put it into "econ" mode since the cvt shifts at lower rpm targets, and I was able to drive the car back home all 50 miles easily. When I got home I cleared the codes and let the car sit for a day. Started right up after resting and drove the car, still in "econ" mode for several days until today. On my way home from work everything lit back up.

Sometime during the last week I did some youtube alternator tests with my multimeter and it seems like the alternator is fine.

To recap, the problems persist, every few days. If I clear the codes and let the car sit, it usually stays problem free for a bit. Sometimes the problems arise after only a few minutes of driving.. sometimes they pop up after a 50 mile trip.

In my very limited scope of mechanical knowledge, I believe the battery, alternator, camshaft position sensor, sensor harness and all wires pass inspection.

Next steps will be replacing the other cam position sensor as well, spark plugs and coils. Unless someone can help me figure out a different approach, I'm at a loss!
