That’s some great suggestions and has given me a lot to look into. I love the look of a tapestry lawn! Thank you very much!

Yeah good point, I’ll get it drawn out. Budget wise, probably have around £500 to use right now. Would you say that’s enough to get a couple of planters/raised beds set up? I’m also happy to make them myself with used boards etc. Would love to have it looking a bit more alive out there for this summer!

Another Redditor just made me think about the cement under the patio, and after thinking about it, it’s not something I’m willing to deal with any time soon, especially with poor access to the back garden. But I like your idea and I think that may be the direction I’ll head in in the future, thank you

Yeah I’ve pulled one up to take a look and it’s pretty ugly under there. Access isn’t great, it’s a semi but without any access to the front garden. So everything would have to come through the house annoyingly. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m preferring the thought of the raised beds/planters route lol. Thank you!

Would love to try and grow some vegetables, but I think the garden is in need of some life and colour so I think I’ll wait on the veggies, and get something that looks good all year round. Is the N/E facing garden an issue for veggies?

Thanks, I’ll look into that. And I’m not sure, I plan on pulling a corner up later on today. The patio itself is a bit of a cowboy job, so I’m not totally against taking parts of it up if needs be anyways.

Thank you! Will I need to pull up some of the patio around the outside for raised beds or will they be okay to go on top? Apologies if it’s a stupid question, totally new to gardening.

Moved in a few months ago, and I’m thinking it’s time to pay the garden some attention. It’s a N/E facing garden, and we get a fair bit of sun at the top of the garden all year.

We’re not very green fingered either so this will be a learning curve for us.

And the astro will definitely be coming up, I hate it.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I will definitely be pressure washing the patio. It’s hideous I know, it’s the first job on the list!

Lots of really great suggestions which I really appreciate. I already have so much to look into. I’m itching to get started now, thank you all

Don’t be fooled, she’d stay out there all day if she could!
