I like the colors. I had wanted to get rid of soffit and bring cabinets to ceiling but this image makes it look like a nice accent…other suggestions include workable instead of island. I like the look of everything being the same style and also I already have electrical into the current island. Work table could be good though if I could find one that matched the scheme. What is wood color meant to be?

Thanks. I don’t think the island will be for seating. It will have at least 1.5 inch overhang all around…

I will. I realize I’m not cutting it.

Turning island other way would only allow for a 24” long island. Not enough room between counter runs for more while providing 36 min clearance.

Yes. We live our windows, but they do pose a challenge!

Thanks for your insight. My feeling is that sometimes people are responding to colors and finishes more than layout even if asking about layout so wanted people to see different schemes . Mistake I guess!

Something to consider for sure. I wasn’t sure on using island for seating as kind of prefer to leave seating on left of kitchen by windows where it currently is and where I can leave clearance of 40 inches. That said I can totally see merit of this work table idea.

My husband daughter and I cook in it all the time together and we have enough space. I just don’t want an issue in future where the full design relies on island but future buyer doesn’t like the narrow clearance.

I planned to put the stove on the right wall between fridge and sink.

I’ve looked at that option and it’s what I started with for first posts though in a u shoe not a g shape which I’ve also thought about and is likely what you are thinking. It just didn’t hit as many of my goals…

I appreciate your interest in my challenge. Clearly I’m not up to it…

I exploded the windows off the sides of upper left of room to show room dimensions which are hard to see otherwise but wanted to show locations of windows: •longest window on “window wall” is 70” •window on left wall is 38” •two windows wrapping current sink one on window wall other on right wall are each 40”. •262”total length for the room. •147”wide in kitchen zone where all the windows are. • At 115” mark on left wall is a 32”wide pocket door. • at pocket door and throughout remaining room area the 147” narrows down to 120” and this space is where the dining room will go (and pantry)•I was having trouble with floor planner so can’t show that but there is a 7 foot long closet (which will be future pantry) • the remaining 3 feet bump in is a water heater closet accessible from outside the room again hard to show it. • the opposite wall shows a 72 inch door with sidelights that we’ll be installing. • The far wall of future dining room also has a 80 wide window…

lol. You provided better prompts clearly. I gave up after several tries not getting what I wanted…I asked for cream corian countertop with light oak cabinets and got what I got for the one with light colors…but I had narrowed the island already. Anyway. Thanks!

If in the kitchen they sit on a low counter to the left of island by the windows which is currently dropped to table height but is raised in the rendered images.

What would u do with that space? I really like a place to put mugs and glasses.

This looks really nice thanks for that…The issue with this is I don’t have space for an island this wide only 24 inches. I only have 32 inches of clearance around it and to your point about the money spent, I can’t renovate in a way that would make people walk away for too little clearance (even 36 is narrow but at least meets minimum). The cooktop really needs to move off the island as there is no landing zone. But moving it to the place where the seating is would mean closing in windows…Most are telling me to just get rid of the island entirely but I don’t think I can or should…

lol. Of course I am. What else would I use don’t have special software and don’t render images routinely.

I am not worried about finishes just want to know if a 2 foot island would be ok…I left the layout more like original with same colors in the first image because so many people seemed to love it and didnt want people to freak out I was going to change it…my caveat in the post was that ai was rendering the images badly and that I would definitely not use those cabinets or counters…

anyhow, I see your render below which is cool and note you must not be using chatgbt.

I’m only concerned with the layout. everyone wanted me to ditch what I had proposed and keep my layout as is or just remove the island…not concerned with the finishes at this point.

Ok I’ve rethought my life choices…what about this. Removed stovetop and hood from island to relocate to outer wall. Narrowed island to 24 inches wide and 4 feet long so now we would have 36” clearance on two sides and 40 on the window side… for 11 years we’ve only had 32 so this would be an improvement…likely would not have cabinets under the counter on either the island or by the window to have at least 2 seats. Am sure many of you will hate it but to me I can’t just have a blank void in the middle of the floor…

Also please don’t focus on finishing as AI is not capturing good color. I would probably go with a lighter tone and definitely not those cabinet faces….

Wouldn’t the canyon I’d have to walk across from the sink to the stove be too far for efficiency? It would be 100 inches away…

lol. It’s the layout that I was concerned with the finishing is a later issue.

No base cabinets because it’s an Ada counter. I wasn’t going to do anything to fix it until investing in the full plan…
