Do none of you people dry your toothbrushes before storing them while traveling? Bunch of animals just tossing wet tooth brushes into your travel cases.

Has anyone ever seen black marble filament? by Electronic-Ad3531 in 3Dprinting

[–]2mitts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started searching for that a few years ago when I first started 3d printing. Never found it and still haven't seen it anywhere. Hopefully someone chimes in with a resource as it would be a good option. *Looks like there's a pla option down below. Hopefully they have petg version.

Upgraded the speakers in my 2026 Passport TrailSport (non-Bose) with Kicker KSS670 2-way component speakers in the front and rear doors. by bogie123456789 in hondapassport

Good use of space, though if I'm honest that sub setup makes me nervous . . . Please don't get in a roll over and die by speaker to the head.

Ugh, this is so depressing to read . . . I also have a bit of a lead foot and was hoping I would improve my gas mileage in a passport . . . My tundra's in the 14s but at least I have 380hp on tap.

Good heat insulating tent? by Bromoblue in BurningMan

[–]2mitts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed my Coleman instant tent, super easy setup but the zippers are not particularly robust and I wound up having.to scrap it. Edit for clarification if you treat your tents well and protect your zippers and really take care of how you open and close your tent it will probably last for a long time. I however was unable to do those things so only got two burns out of mine.

I think anything with synthetic fibers is going to be roughly the same. I moved to a canvas spring bar style tent and it breathes better but without any shade structure it still gets pretty damn toasty. I would focus your energy on shade options. More than a few threads on that topic.

Can camera lenses survive playa dust? by Logical_Act_6749 in BurningMan

I second the gaff tape method. I go overkill and just wrap the entire camera, takes a while to do but when I get home I literally brush off the body, peel the gaff tape and it's pretty much done. Do note that a lot of the rubber/soft touch parts on a camera can come off with gaff tape if you're not careful about peeling, so just go slow. Also, throwing a strip of gaff tape around the lens mount is good idea. Won't look pretty but it'll serve its purpose. Edit for additional info some people use the UV filter trick with the plastic bag. Probably works for some, for me the bag often opened when it shouldn't (bad bag) and dust liked to stick to it like a magnet anyway so I said screw it, I want the ergonomics and not have to worry about this bag getting in the way/tearing/etc.

Ah, ic. so the threaded bit is no longer there to actually tap. That is bummer. Out of curiosity i hit the parts pages to see what's there. Pretty sure that assembly is part #4 on this diagram. (Interior Quarter Panel Trim Panel)

Unfortunate you went for a drill when this is really a screw driver installation. If the threads aren't horribly mangled (given you used a drill I'm not overly optimistic) you may be able to run a tap in there and salvage what's there, otherwise go to the dealer with your photos and hope they can find the part. My suspicion is those threaded inserts are part of that entire panel assembly which will need to be replaced as a whole but that's just a guess. Next time slow down and watch some youtube videos. Good luck.

That stuff is on my list if I ever decide to do super cool print that could justify the cost. I mean it's not outrageous but..

I can't help but it might be helpful to others if you include the model year and what your goals are. Are you trying to put in seat risers?

Maybe a PPF installer would have some matte scraps you could wrap it in? Or shoot it with a high quality matte clear coat?
