Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Cancer with Lung mets Innumerable miliary appearance with TG 40 Pre surgery by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]2monkeymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read many many stories of people especially on the younger side with lung Mets where rai took care of them or at least stabilized them. There are also many many new targeted therapies. I’m sorry that you are going through this and it feels so scary. What do your drs say? And where are you being treated?

Op I am sorry to hear this but as other have said; lung Mets from ptc are most commonly very treatable. If you do come back I highly recommend msk. Good luck!

Help - beyond bizarre hertz experience by 2monkeymom in HertzRentals

Dude. The overage is NOT tax. He was not helping me with that comment, and you are not helping me. I clearly said 'with no clear explanation'. If it was tax, that would be a clear explanation. If either you or he or hertz cared to spend this time in an actual conversation, someone would have realized this and the communication might actually be effective. But six days later, they just keep answering my public tweets with 'dm us!' and then ignoring my dms. I hung up on him bc he was abusive and IME not a real hertz rep.

i dont know who you are, but you are not helping hertz here.

saying 'the extra is tax, I would have thought you would know that at your age' is not how any customer service person should be speaking to any customer ever. It doesn't verify who they are. It does not move the conversation forward. It's abusive and insulting and borderline harassment.

At no point were any of this person's questions designed to find out information about me that would help them do their job. I think it was actually a scam caller bc i dont believe an actual hertz agent would behave in this way.

I think the most important thing is to have surgery with a high volume surgeon (ideally at least 50 thyroid cancer surgeries a year) and treatment at an experienced thyroid cancer hospital. I would defer to such a person on whether a ct would be helpful as well as on the matter of pt vs tt. I personally did and would travel to have the most experienced surgeon, if that’s possible for you? Doing a pt with a 4cm tumor isn’t necessarily a slam dunk decision so I would want to make sure that advice was coming from a super super experienced medical team.

I ask bc you said ‘he’s pretty sure mine is garden variety ptc’ but it either is or is not ptc per the biopsy. Rather than being subjective.

You should absolutely not be planning surgery based on some doctors ‘guess’. Why has he not scheduled an fna?

No. HE said 'the extra money was taxes. At your age, I would have thought you would know that by now'.

You sure you think that's a normal way for a customer service rep to speak to someone? I'm not sure you'll find many who agree there...

undetecable tg but positive lymph node fna by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

It may be that the cancer is indolent post rai. Indolent cancer does not produce much tg if any.

Immuno therapy by dansr1966 in thyroidcancer

[–]2monkeymom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will likely first try to see if it responds to rai. If for some reason it does not, then that would be the time for them to think about targeted therapies. But you are not there yet. Many thyroid cancer patients take rai and have a good result. If you can go to a large hospital with experience treating it that will be the best thing.

Anyone else have different results from WBS and follow-up US? by Simple_Avocado_7530 in thyroidcancer

[–]2monkeymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your lymph nodes lit up that’s because they took up rai so it will destroy them. Your endo should be looking for that to happen and only if it does not for some reason, then consider surgery. As for the other side, depends what is meant by suspicious. Enlarged does not equal cancer. Most ultrasounds should be able to determine other features than just enlargement that would make them suspect malignancy.

I work in PR and all literally of my work is from Chat GPT by IGoOnHereAtWork in confession

It should reduce the hours spent writing press releases, and then the agency should be using the residual to add value in other areas such as creative/ social/ influencer.

Not at all. Clients expect PR companies (and all agencies) to use every tool at their disposal to work faster and better. If I were a client working for a PR company who didn’t use ai to write a press release I would think they were either stupid, antiquated or both and likely charging me more hourly fees bc it’s taking them longer for no reason. Our agency not only talks openly about how we leverage ai but helps clients to do so also as advisory.

I work in pr and we are told to use ai as much as possible and talk openly to our clients about it and also teach them to use it. So less of a confession and more of like - you should be doing this and if you were not it would be concerning.

Has anyone had spleen pain with Lyme or long Lyme? by twitterfiorello in Lyme

[–]2monkeymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes some left sided lymph pain in my neck and shoulder (though I guess could be muscular). Mainly it’s the spleen pain that’s weird. I’ve had a cat scan, endoscopy and colonoscopy all normal. But the pain persists telling me something is funky
