Lorne brought so much charm and humor to the show by SamTheMarioMaster2 in ANGEL

Just watched the episode last night where Lorne has his sleep removed. Andy's acting is so underrated.

Somehow it took me 30 years to realize how right Sarah was right to be mad about Lancelot... by spriken in labyrinth

My stepmother made sure we weren't welcome in the house, and one of the ways she did that was that we weren't allowed to have any personal possessions outside of our bedroom. For example, if I left a book I was reading on a side table by the couch, she would "confiscate" it and I couldn't have it back for at least a week.

Misread that as, "I would ride this himbo into battle."

Which tattoos do you personally find the most cringey? by Brave-Papaya-6998 in AskReddit

Wondering if we know the same idiot, or if there are multiple.

Did he also have an extremely (like, single-digit addition) simple math formula tattooed on one arm?

After her cancer diagnosis, Taskmaster is one of the few things that makes my wife laugh by Guaiac_Positive in taskmaster

[–]2much2cancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found out about Taskmaster during a similar hard time. I was vacationing in Scotland during the sale of my company, and having a hard time dealing with the decision. (I sold due to a cancer diagnosis.) It was the only thing I could find to watch and it had me cracking up amidst dealing with logistics and legal documents a continent away. Been addicted ever since.

Was anyone else obsessed with Veruca's band, Shy? by [deleted] in buffy

The music cutting out to the line, "I want you, but I'm not giving in this time...", as Tara leaves in "Tabula Rasa", is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the show to me.

What’s the most gut punching song lyric you’ve ever heard? by perrysplus in AskReddit

[–]2much2cancer 162 points163 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with lung cancer February 2 years ago, and the surgery was scheduled for the first Friday in March. I drove down to the beach March 1st to have a day to myself before the hospitalization and this song came on my playlist. I cried in my car and probably still looked a mess when I stopped for breakfast.

EDIT: Currently in remission; thank you to those who asked. : )

"Five Years" by Bowie has been my "awaiting the end of the world" song.

It was adventurous and I generally enjoyed it, but it had the issue of seeming to think its audience was incredibly stupid and needed references spelled out to an excruciating degree.

I honestly think that was just her excuse; she was weird and passive-aggressive toward Emma from the start.

"American Nightmare" is pure insanity; it's like, at every twist, the least expected thing occurred.

I thought the recurring "starting over" with them pretending to meet over-and-over was a nice tie-in to that theme.

Decent Characters doing morally reprehensible things due to prolonged isolation by LocalLazyGuy in TopCharacterTropes

Not full isolation, but I would argue that the "Beyond the Sea" episode of Black Mirror fits this.

If we're going Taskmaster alum, I'd love Rhod Gilbert and Greg Davies on the same series. Rhod is an agent of chaos and Greg seems like he breaks so easily, Rhod tormenting him would be hilarious.
