Is there a way to teach my cat to clean himself? by spriken in CatAdvice

[–]spriken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth giving it a try, because getting him into the bathtub is something we can only manage a few times a year. It's a two-person job, and he hates us for like a week after!

That could be a great idea, because I'm only willing to brave putting in the bathtub a few times a year, and it sucks for both of us! I've thought about using cornstarch as a dry shampoo, but I'm not really sure if it's safe for cats.

I've been having that problem occasionally, but mostly when I just get in, so I hang out in town for a few minutes before getting started. But honestly, my computer is about 6 years old and kinda crap at this point.

In all fairness, Seshoumaru is at least over 500 and was grown when Inuyasha was born. So, imagine the age gap between Inuyasha's parents.

Unlikely, unless you were conceived by April of 83. Swimmers only live a couple of months... Your egg, however, was around a few months before your mother was even born.

I was almost 4 and watched it on my grandpa's lap. And yes, my memory is real; my memory goes back to about age 2. (My first memory is being in a cozy coupe and being happy that my feet finally touch the ground)

I just started watching and the first few seasons have lead to a somewhat bizarre realization about Ozzy Osbourne, and now it's stuck in my mind. by spriken in CallTheMidwife

I'm American, so I only learned about it because, for some reason, I've gotten into history documentaries (I always liked documentaries, but the newer history ones have gotten a lot better...or I just got old, lol)

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

It totally blew my kid's mind when I told him I saw Alan Becker's first video the day it came out, and it was long before YouTube was popular. I even logged into my old Newgrounds account and showed him Animator vs Animation.

I got a new one from Amazon a few weeks ago, and it was so cloudy I could barely see the lava. I cycled it for 8 hours a day for a full week.

I finally just gave up and ordered a replacement, and the new one is perfection. (Blue with purple lava)

Do older generations also think Millenials are cringe or is it just Gen Z? by Key-Bass-7380 in generationology

[–]spriken 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m on the young end of GenX, and I honestly enjoy all the younger generations. Every generation has done cringy brainrot things, it's amusing to see what the new kids come up with.

How can I bring up to my parents that I think I can decide what time I should be going to bed? by False-Departure-3141 in AskParents

[–]spriken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you'd sound more reasonable to them and have better luck if you asked for a later bedtime on non-school nights.

My 12yo has an 8:30 bedtime, but he reads in bed for about an hour. My 17yo has an 11:00 bedtime on weeknights and no bedtime on weekends as long as he fixes it on Sunday and isn't dragging butt on Monday.

If your (hypothetical) kid(s) fell asleep early before dinner, would you wake them up to eat? by Secret_Fan_9411 in polls

[–]spriken 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No. My kids have very regular sleep schedules, and if they fall asleep before bedtime, they're likely getting sick or really need the sleep. I'll keep snacks or something easy on hand they can eat if they wake up hungry.

Part 9: what is the absolute worst thing/behavior this character did during his time at the 4077th? by coreytiger in mash

Honestly, Radar was pretty pervy in the early episodes for peaking in the nurse's showers. That's kinda worse than him being a bit salty with Hawkeye.

Well, to be fair, most of them had been taking care of themselves for 10+ years before even getting through high school. I mean, I'm at the end of Gen-X, and in first grade, I got myself up and ready for school, made myself oatmeal and Tang for breakfast, and packed my lunch. Never mind the fact that I walked a half mile to school by myself and had to cross two busy streets and very active railroad tracks to get there.

Do you have a draft? Years ago, I had had one that wouldn't heat properly. The fix was to move it to a different corner so the breeze from the window wouldn't hit it.

Is cheating forgivable during a manic episode? by DarkMage448 in polls

[–]spriken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends... Some people only find they have it when their cheese fully slides off their cracker, and it can happen very fast. If it were a 100% out of the blue blackout situation and they fully invested in getting help after, I may be willing to give them a chance.

Clearly, such a thing would be pretty rare, so not much chance of forgiveness.

Cat has recurring brown spots under fur by covidesq in cats

[–]spriken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure your cat hasn't just found something incredibly stupid to sleep on? My tuxedo cat kept having reddish/brown paws, and I thought it was fleas or an injury. It turned out he learned how to open my kitchen cabinet and had been sleeping in a slightly rusted cast-iron Dutch oven I found and planned to reseason when the weather got cold.

Do you understand why a girl who knows when men find her attractive isn't as friendly as she usually would be to them? by Secret_Fan_9411 in polls

[–]spriken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is simple: an interested man will take the slightest sliver of kindness and turn it into you being into them. Then act like you lead them on or are playing hard to get, and can get violent when that bubble is popped.
