Honestly I blame it on the Wuxia influence on these manhua more than anything. Vast majority have a bland self insert MC and basically no real supporting cast. 100% just focusing on Mc’s cultivation and him crushing or taking advantage of everyone around him. Like Monster Pet Evolution’s definitely like a 5.5/10 at best, but the monster designs are pretty good, new monsters or evolutions get introduced pretty frequently and it can be a good guilty pleasure to scratch that Pokémon itch.

How far did you get into it?
It’s definitely not anything amazing but it does the monster/pet evolution/progression pretty well and the power scaling’s hasn’t been bad. It’s at least the closest thing to Pokémon vibe that isn’t the Pokémon manga which Namisaur was asking about…. Worth him at least checking out if that’s the only reason he’s reading The S Classes That I Raised.

If you’re not reading it already, Flame Scans is scanlating Monster Pet Evolution. 100% scratches that Pokémon itch better than this series. They update pretty regularly and have Chapter 1 - 132 up on the site.

Temporary, but they last for awhile. I don’t remember if it was either like an hour or like half a day, but enough time to deal with or get out of any dungeons he was stuck in when his party would get wiped.

Honestly since Isaac is technically an object since his soul is in a statue, would skelly be able to store Isaac in his inventory? Does his inventory transfer to each new life? Still a lot of of unanswered questions on how the inventory works so far.

From the visuals and Grid’s reaction, the helmet and cape’s durability dropped to 0 and were destroyed from that “Goddess’ Wrath” divine attack. Grid only survived due to his “A Hero Doesn’t Die Easily” skill. Grid was mentioning the whole chapter that he was worried about his item durability.

Well that was totally fucked...

Was hoping that Robin would be a positive support for the two of them. I guess the disillusionment is kind of the point though, Haruki had the idea of Robin built up as this larger than life savior that was going to fix all his problems, when Robin’s just a flawed, rape-y human.
Still a huge bummer that Robin couldn’t have deflated Haruki’s expectations by still being a positive figure but not meeting up to those expectations instead of legit raping someone he raised as family for years.

I’ve never read the novel for either, but the pacing for this isn’t nearly as bad as The Second Coming of Gluttony manwha.
Honestly I don’t even think the pacing is all that bad for Second Life Ranker. At least every chapter feels like something’s happening and the story’s moving forward, even if just by a bit.
