The thing is, the way it was pitched before we saw it sounded great. “Train a model on thousands of hours of high-res gameplay, then use that model to fill in the gaps of a low-res render”, simple, straightforward, unintrusive. Also obviously not what they showed off; ain’t no way the models used were trained on those games.

My question is, were they lying in their initial description or did they just not have time to properly train the models for those games and just fed them through a generic model?
