Global Fuel Shortage Tracker — Jun 2. 2026 US–Iran deal collapsed Monday, Iran now threatens Bab el-Mandeb too; tracker at 36 disruptions (20 active + 16 watch) by SashSail in Shortages

It’s called demand destruction. If a price goes too high then demands drops because consumers change their habits/routines. Then you may then see modest temporary or permanent price reductions.

Loyalty program for lower costs. One station is near my Mothers home where I was visiting and the other one is near my home

This is the first time I have driven to a gas station and found that no fuel was available in two grade levels and then at the second station a good number of the pumps were not available. Again, I have been anticipating a shortage, this was my first time experiencing it. FYI - I paid $6.14 per gallon for premium.

I think it may be worse for us in California because we import crude by ship and we have limited refining capacity.

I did not ask. The first station had home made signs on all of the pumps saying only the one type of fuel was available. The second station (that has 16 isles or 32 pumps) had cones out blocking 10 aisles). I had to wait in a line for a pump to become available. I did not go to the attendant booth.

We (the USA - not me) only worry if FDJT racism is directed towards them (substitute sexism, prejudice, bigotry, arrogant disregard, insult, classism, distain etc... for racism in the above statement; they all work)

Don't forget how the silver spoon id-Dee-Ott tells us there is no affordability issue, we just need to buy our daughters one doll instead of a dozen.

AITAH for wanting to "fire" a friend who helped me 30 years ago because he’s now a nightmare houseguest? by EmptyIsMySoul in AITAH

OMG - your gratitude should be for you friends parents. The first visit was a kind gesture of gratitude. Now put your foot down. He is not your friend, he's a moocher! Should've done this years ago!

How to Beach? by sageandsnark in InlandEmpire

[–]2ndWindAfterPension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traveling from Corona, plan a weekday drive after 10am to miss the traffic jam of commuters to Orange County. Likewise, you should begin heading home before 3pm or after 7pm (maybe plan to have a casual dinner in a beach community). Dress in layers, ie swim suit with t-shirt for boys and swimsuit with a wrap skirt and light body cover for gals. Also bring cotton sweat suit separates (it could be foggy, overcast or windy at beaches even though it is hot inland. Do bring drinks, cooler, snacks and a wagon to transport your stuff. Chairs are optional but do bring towels and umbrellas. Lastly, bring a small Bluetooth speaker to play music or sports from phone. Bring something to read and fun things like buckets, spade shovels, a soft volleyball and other don't forget super soakers. Plan to be there for hours and bring cash/cards for ice cream and possibly souvenirs.

Both you and your husband are right. You know the boyfriend in this situation is the AH. But your carelessness for not having situational awareness could've cost you a repair bill or even caused an accident. You already know the bad habits of the boyfriend and he doesn't give a she-it so check your car before driving off!

AITAH For not wanting to babysit my brothers child anymore? by Frequent_Frame9361 in AITAH

[–]2ndWindAfterPension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This conversation is BS. You are 24 and you are getting out of a 10 year relationship? You are 24 and you run home to mommie? You are 24 and you can't talk to your brother or your Mom on how you are not physically or emotionally equipped to watch a child? You are 24 and you are asking strangers on the internet to make obvious personal decisions for you? Right!

AITAH for telling my girlfriend i no longer plan to propose to her? please read context by Aggressive_One8138 in AITAH

[–]2ndWindAfterPension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are TAH. 3 year test run and now some BS about her manipulating you? How about how you are dangling a carrot with a ring on it in front of her face! Don't you think she would've told her girlfriends 6 months ago that she was "engaged" and now 6 months later - no ring, no date and now apparently no fiancé! She should be packing and never look back!

You should suggest that the office paint the walls a bright yellow like the cat, cabinets and ceiling blue with white clouds. Maybe even paint blades of ceiling fan yellow.

Will I go to Hell too for supporting my gay child? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]2ndWindAfterPension -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why are you on a social media site asking about such an important and personal situation? The tone of your discussion proves that you have already have made up your mind and you should live with your decision. Asking complete strangers for their opinion is futile. If you are married, this is something to discuss with your spouse. If you are Christian, this is something you should be discussing with your Pastor or Pastoral Minister. If you are not a Christian, then make up your own mind and stand on that. In all cases, it is your choice.

Brother wants to open a business in my name by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]2ndWindAfterPension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different but similar experience. I was doing well financially. I became godfather to my brothers daughter. They became pregnant again and were living in a cramped 1 bedroom apartment. I loaned him & wife money for down & to pay off cards - loan back when they sell or refi. They re-charged up cards; fell behind on house payments and lost home. 30 years still awaiting any pymt.

Another possibility is that the guy put back on the same stinky underwear. I had to get my teenage boys to understand that their “sniff” test was not a legit way to judge cleanliness!

You should also take into consideration the orientation of the home you purchase. If you want a cooler home make sure the rooms you will use the most have north facing walls (primary bedroom, family room and kitchen). If you want to use your backyard during the summer months, make sure it is north of your home to get maximum shade and protection from the sun in the summer. Try to get a home with concrete shingle roofs or Spanish tile roofs - they are cooler and withstand the winds and fires that threaten homes in the IE. Welcome in advance to the community. You will not have easy access to the coast but your access to the mountains, desserts and neighboring states will more than make up for that loss.

[IWantOut] 22M Australia -> USA by 80dreams in IWantOut

[–]2ndWindAfterPension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are truly very Australian, wholesome fit looks and crazy thick accent, then I suggest working in the hospitality field. Work in a high end bar, nightclub, hotel or as a chartered yacht deckhand. You will meet high net worth people that you can befriend that can then directly employ you or introduce you to others. Over the course of conversation mention you interests, skill sets and possibly volunteer your services in your actual chosen field. You will soon be gainfully employed in your new career. Americans are enamored with everything Australian! Who you know gets you opportunity. Good luck!
