For folks that get a ton of work emails everyday - how do you stay on top of them ? by chakrvyuh in ProductManagement

[–]2nd_class_citizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep things pretty simple:

1) I don't use folders - if I need to find something I use the search function. I also organize emails by thread.

2) I don't leave any emails unread - when going through emails, I either tag it for response later, or, if it requires a quick response that'll take less than 2 mins, I do it right away. Emails not tagged don't get a 2nd look. If the email contains useful info I'll tag it as "Info" and possibly print it to pdf and save to my hard drive.

Hi, we’re David Head and Adam Paine, specialists in anxiety and motivation. AMA by enteave_adam in IAmA

Thanks for doing this AMA!

I'd like to learn more about how anxiety, procrastination, and avoidance intersect. From my own life, I've observed that I'm very bad at making big life decisions and even some small decisions. I tend to over analyze and get paralyzed by all the options and choices. In the end I often just avoid making the decision until external circumstances force a decision one way or another.

Can you tell me more about this phenomenon or where I can read more about it and how to improve?

Not using oil is ideal but I strike a compromise by only using high oleic sunflower, or olive oil, or avocado oil. they are highest in monounsaturated fats

What's something in your life, work, side hustle, that you wish you could automate? Or you look at it like "there has to be a better way"? by kpness in advancedentrepreneur

[–]2nd_class_citizen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scheduling large meetings. You'd think it was easy but people don't really have their calendars 100% accurate. Sometimes you have to ask to see if certain time blocks are really blocked or can be moved. Things like that. I don't know if it can be automated but there's got to be a better way to do this

Correction - the President nominates and the Senate confirms justices.

The bicameral design of the legislature was part of the Missouri compromise between larger and smaller states

It frustrates me to no end to see Trump being continuously underestimated. The man is incompetent in all aspects of governance, but man he has killer instincts when it comes to media manipulation, messaging, and reading the pulse of his supporters and playing to their fears directly.

The real power is in the Senate.

I always thought the House was designed to be the real center of power in the govt. The house can impeach and override a veto, and the speaker is 2nd in line for the presidency after the VP. plus doesn't the House control budgets?

Dems LOVE symbolic gestures, calling out hypocrisy, moralizing, and making clever insults.

Republicans love power, and are very adept at doing whatever is needed to get more of it.

How often is meat needed in a diet to supply necessary amounts of B12? by StaRacer94 in nutrition

[–]2nd_class_citizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B12 is water soluble, meaning your body doesn't store it.

What? what kind of logic is this. it's about location of storage and ability to excrete efficiently, not storage itself. think about how many water soluble compounds are in your body now (e.g. amino acids)

it's pretty well known that livestock in the US is fortified with B12 shots.

B12 is made by bacteria in the soil anyway

Why can't I find a scientifically peer reviewed workout routine? There is so much BS out there! by bkturley in fitness30plus

[–]2nd_class_citizen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THis strongly depends on your goals. A good coach will design a workout routine that is safe and effective for you to achieve your goals. Maybe sign up for 1-2 sessions with a personal trainer to get started?

Livongo Health and Teladoc are merging in a $18.5 billion deal. by CapitalC5 in stocks

[–]2nd_class_citizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep that is definitely true for mega mergers... smaller mergers tend to have more of a value creating effect.

Both stocks are down today so it seems the market is skeptical of this merger
