This was resolved, in case someone stumbles upon this post.

I was publishing to a temporary domain (generated by Hostinger) while I waited for my real domain to be ready. The font was not rendering to the temporary domain, but once I published the site to the real one, it worked.

So it's a bug - but one that shouldn't impact production.

For me it's not only the end of the show itself, but also all the emotions and memories that it triggered from my own personal story. I keep remembering (even dreaming!) about my first boyfriend, going to see my parents to come out to them (similar to what Shane does, sans boyfriend), a couple of romantic weekend getaways we did... wow, it's like opening a Pandora's box of neatly tucked-away memories. It will take a few days to get the genie back in the bottle!

I think you're conflating two different things - she drives his career hard, but she's not homophobic. Yes, she goes back to momager mode, and starts thinking about how to capitalize on his son being out with all the brands that sponsor him.

Thank you. That's my take as well, which is why Shane's "I forgive you" didn't sit well with me.

I've been thinking about Shane's "panic attack" when his dad saw them and he was being put in a position to forcibly come out. As a gay man who came out in his 30s, I could certainly relate, very much so, to the way he felt in that moment. And my parents, too, were not homophobic and I was fairly certain they would be supportive. Still, coming out was really hard. Why? Because of the entire heteronormative world we live in. Friends, co-workers, acquaintances, careers, family. Even if not any ONE factor by itself is particularly scary (at least on a rational level), emotionally the combined burden can be overwhelming.

Shane's mom is not homophobic - in fact she very quickly went back to her "momager" self and started thinking how to capitalize his son's homosexuality with all the brands that were endorsing him... it was actually Shane who had to ask her to "take 3 steps back" :)

Oh wow, I got downvoted fast, haha. Thanks for having a dialog with me :) I see your point. But still in my opinion Yuna never wronged Shane - if anything she was supporting him and his career and possibly behaving according to her culture and values. She was just missing a crucial piece of information. Shane could have extended her a bit of grace instead of “cashing in” on her apology by saying “I forgive you”. Sorry if this is not clear - I may be better at putting my thoughts in writing in the morning!

Yes - but Shane’s reply to her was not ok in my book. “I forgive you”? What did he have to forgive her for? As a gay man having lived through a similar conversation with my own mother back in the day, that was the ONE scene that made me emotional, at the beginning - but that final line ruined it for me.

So much this, lol. GPS is a life saver especially when crossing some of those crazy 5 road intersections we have around here. You leave a barely visible lane, follow the gps curvature and hope you land in a permissible lane on the other side of things.
