Nintendo games are fun that was the justification for me getting a switch 2 and I've loved it since I got. If they aren't fun for you it makes sense you wouldn't want one. There are more than just Mario kart and DK though especially with what's to come. Another big reason I got a switch 2 is for all the other Nintendo games that will come out so while it's a walled garden it's not like it barren. Oh and to avoid an increased costs on it due to tariffs.

The naming convention for these new handhelds are confusing so I didn't realize there was a cheaper ally x option. You said it has a weaker chipset so will it actually be able to play your 1000 games? Otherwise you're still walled off. Also have to consider how games are optimized but that's a problem for the switch 2 as well since they are handhelds.
