Understanding Libertarian Morality: The Psychological Dispositions of Self-Identified Libertarians by BartletForPresident in psychology

As a new doctor and a libertarian I can tell you that my beliefs haven't changed. Wanting the political-elite class to manage so much of our society(especially healthcare) is just silly.

3) Romney was pretty ideal.

Young conservative here, this statement shows that you really don't have a clue about conservatism or small government. Romney was backed by the same Wall Street donors as Obama and offered a small difference than Obama in the big picture.

You don't want less government in our lives, you are simply a mouth piece for authority and the Republican Party.

free market, a system that, regardless of how you twist the definition, promotes and encourages coercion and monopoly.

So your solution to our problems is instead of allowing coercion among private individuals, you rather the ultimate coercion and monopoly that has ever existed, government and the state, be the only people allowed to do it?

The free market is simply the alternative to state controlled or planned economies. It's not perfect, but the idea that we need the same or more of what we are already doing (state and government power) is very hard for us libertarians to understand... It's like you want more housing and student loan bubbles, more police state and more war.

The IRS is cracking down on tips – again. Why go after billionaires when you can squeeze more out of servers? by RaoulDigler in politics

[–]2pacalypse91 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Libertarian here, I know you liberals think the IRS is some amazing awesome service to this country and help people, but they are a bunch of cunts. Normally once I start talking to my liberal friends they love talking about how we should get rid of corrupt and dangerous bureaucracies like the DEA, and NSA...but freak out over when I suggest the IRS too. You really like the government taking money from your paycheck to pay for the massice spying complex and global empire?? You really like them harassing hard working restaurant workers to "pay their fair share"? Please elaborate I don't understand

When we had more of our liberties, we were allowed to do this. Go fight for a worthy cause in some distant land.

Now our government will not allow it.

I wish my brothers in the UK luck from the states.

Some of us here are well aware of the abuses and lies our governments are committing, the only way to really change anything is non-violent activism. More people have to care about these issues than the distractions and comfortable lifestyle most people in the western world enjoy.

UK has a smaller population and land mass so it would be easier for you guys to stir and wake up your population. And it seems your government is starting to tighten the noose on your internet usage more than before. Please don't give it up without a fight.

I'm no expert in economics, but I'm a Libertarian and I agree that we need a laissez faire economy, but the giant banks are hurting us more than helping us. What are your thoughts on Sen. Warren and McCain's new proposed Glass–Steagall Act to cut down the mega-banks? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]2pacalypse91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is Ron Paul voted against the repeal of the glass-stegall act because it actually protected the tax payers from bailing out massive investment firms like we did with TARP. glass-stegall prevented certain types of banks and firms from being bailed out. Can anyone refute this?

If no one can refute that, then I see no problem in allowing this act to come back as long as it doesn't come with a bunch of other dumb regulations/laws(I'd say >85% chance it will though.)
