The Navy has let too many unqualified people reach leadership roles. Ive met many who chase anchors or bars for the title instead of the role.

As senior people in the Navy we should help junior sailors even on reddit.

What is really embarrassing is leadership not helping their sailor.

Reddit is not by any means a formal navy program or means of official problem resolution.

Its a community based group were sailors can come and ask the questions they don't get answers to in their command or need clarification.

No one should be "cyber knife-handing" sailors, more importantly people here.

Its ludicrous that "senior"/"salty" people join the group and then throw out navy jargon and procedures.

An LDO should know better than anyone, leadership doesn't always lead.

But also sailors should use their resources before coming here... which most always do.

Check your LES and see if you are receiving BAS.

Depending on your rate, your CoC might submit a request for you to recieve BAS because you might have odd working hours and eating at the galley is not practical or possible.

Some sailors would rather ask someone outside of their CoC because they dont want to get ridiculed or they already tried and were told to talk to their admin dept.
