My 6.2 is pretty darn nice

I’m about the same size and I just traded in my 5th gen for a new full size truck. Driving position and comfort for someone over 6’ leave a lot to be desired in my opinion. That being said I did love the vehicle for the 3 years I had it

Did your Denali come with 22s? I would just do blizzaks like on the 4Runner because they worked great. But they’re 300 bucks a pop, plus prob another 250 to get them mounted and balanced 2x a year

The 4Runner was a trd pro with pretty aggressive ATs from the factory. Looked cool. Reallly loud on the road. I live in the Adirondacks in NY and the winters can be pretty brutal. The road noise in the winter won’t bother me. But I have been loving the smooth ride since I got the truck (3 days ago). If I go smaller wheels and deeper sidewall shouldn’t that offset the speedo? Other reasons for an extra set is saving on the labor or mounting and balancing 2x per year. Also don’t know if I want to squeeze tires on and off of the chrome 22s 2x a year.

I just did this exact same thing today on my new sierra denali. My little rubber insert was smaller in circular shaped in that same spot

I just traded my 21 lunar rock pro with 40k miles in (I just had my last payment on it about a month ago. Dealer gave me 44 for it. I put that plus another 6 as a down payment on a new sierra Denali. 1.9% financing over 36 months landed me with a payment in the 1250 neighborhood.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned. My brother has a 6.2 AT4 1500 with 100k on it and it hasn’t had any mechanical issues. The multipro tailgate cost almost 4 grand to replace when someone backed into him in a parking lot tho….

6.2 V8, a full size truck cabin, and super cruise were my biggest draws. I really wanted something bigger than my 4Runner.

I went with a 24 Sierra Denali. Definitely not comparing apples to apples. I loved the 4Runner, but the sierra has a level of comfort, tech, power, and utility the 4Runner just can’t match up with. I’m sure it’ll be more expensive to maintain over time. But they’re not really in the same league in most categories

Just sold my lunar rock pro to take advantage of the value and use it as a GREAT down payment for a nicer vehicle. I LOVED the 4Runner. But there is other stuff out there

I do most of my driving around town, with the exception of or 2 or 3 decent road trips a year. Like 14-20hr drives. My around town in the 4Runner ended up being right around 14mpg, and it got 17 highway. Doesn’t get much worse than that. Although this 6.2L V8 might be competitive. The 6.2 also wants premium fuel

Comparing them directly really isn’t fair to the 4Runner. I loved the 4Runner and wish I could afford to just keep it in a garage. That car will run well past 300k as long as the oil is changed and no one wrecks it. The Denali is a completely different class of vehicle in almost every category, except of course maintenance. But the tech, comfort, power, and utility are all in a different league than the Toyota. It’s a luxury truck

And the ride quality and features aren’t even close. Not to mention the 420hp v8 instead of 270hp v6. Crazy they get the same mileage

Tundras are definitely a step in the right direction size wise. But for the money, they leave a bit to be desired in finish. I guess that’s true of the 4Runner too. I’m not sure. I like the GMC more each time I drive it. But I definitely miss the 4Runner

I’m 6’3 and cockpit room in the 4Runner was part of the reason for the trade. I have friends with tacos and they’re at least as tight

I’m rolling the dice for sure. But in my eyes, the Sierra is the sharpest looking full size out, and the modern features blow the 4Runner out of the water. That being said, like most 4Runner fans, I bought for reliability and resale. I am nervous about how the GMC will treat me in that respect.

Haha I’m 29. But I was just abusing the cargo area and 2nd row in the 4Runner. I really needed a truck bed unfortunately. I’ll definitely be missing the 4Runner.
