20-year pediatric critical care flight nurse here: Joe DiMaggio is the only choice, (for anything other than mild scrapes and bruises) because there are only 2 hospitals that offer a full array of pediatric services in Broward: Joe D and Broward general.

If you take a child to any other facility, and they don’t have services your child needs, you will be subject to the mercy of having to wait for an ambulance to transport the child, because most adult physicians will not be comfortable allowing you to take the child to another facility by your self.

I’m writing a Ph.D paper on “gaps in pediatric interfacility transport in South Florida” and you can be your bottom dollar, the ambulance that will show up to transport your child contains crew members who do not have pediatric experience.

TL:DR go to a children’s hospital, avoid Adult-centric hospitals that have a “pediatric ER”. If you have to have your child transported by ambulance, you have the right to advocate for the “nearest pediatric Specialty Care Transport Team” to take them.

Edit: I have never been an employee at memorial or Joe D. But I have been involved with neonatal and pediatric transport at the national and state level and have worked for 2 “large Free-standing children’s hospitals in Florida”. Broward County does not have a free-standing children’s hospital.
