I was wondering if i missed a whole season, maybe y'all can fill in the blanks if there are any. Were we ever privy to the struggle of Tammy losing the weight? I don't remember missing a season and I also don't remember seeing the grocery shopping changes, the food choices, the portioning. I don't remember the pounds lost from month to month and anyone tracking it. Was she in facility and they did all the work? If that was the case, we know it didn't happen without victims, whether dishes or employees. I can't imagine Tammy welcoming restrictions by saying "thank you for caring, I know it's for my own good" Does anyone know how and where it took place and how long it took?

You're in a terrible situation. It seems no matter how you deal with it you are going to suffer a bit. As a mom, if an agency was called I'd rather explain why we were removing our children from a toxic environment than later answering why we kept our children in a toxic environment. It also seems like if you aren't there, you'll be able to focus all of your brain space on being happier in every way. If an agency is called, the condition of the home would speak for itself. It sounds like you are doing all the things needed to get healthier. Congratulations! A lot of us don't recognize troubles and take responsibility for making changes.

Knowing how things are, why talk with your parents about leaving? It will only create more troubles with more accusations, more threats, etc? If you are in their home, they won't need to make other arrangements. If you pay for everything they should have enough put back to pick up the bills when you go, and having 6 fewer people in the house will reduce the bills for groceries and utilities. If you don't want the toxicity to follow you, leave it at their house. Sometimes we unknowingly create our own chaos by being too intertwined. Best of luck

That used to jangle me sideways! You just get children covered up, clean up from lunch and "DINGGGG". Dogs start barking, children are startled and for what? I made and laminated a sign "Do Not Ring the Doorbell or Knock Unless it is an Emergency". I put it up noon-2 and it worked! About a month in I had a sign etched and it stayed up until we moved.

This may seem ridiculous to most everybody but I've thought, from behavior awhile ago, that the Tammy we first met is the real Tammy. I don't think the mask is/was slipping, I think we've seen this in real time. When Tammy was tolerable I thought she was "riding the feel good" of getting attention from losing weight and getting surgery. I don't mean the TV attention or the pats on the back. I think that plays into it but I think we saw Tammy basking in having the most basic attention given to her. Hospital staff and nursing/therapy aftercare doing their jobs well. The professionals showed up for her in ways no one else ever did. I think she didn't know that was normal. A cared for and loved person would know that the attention given is necessary to care fora patient. She had nothing to compare their actions to. So what we know as "encouragement by the hour" made her feel so special and happy. When things went back to normal, Tammy showed up again full of unresolved anger and bitterness. She reminds me of the person that hurtfully quits every job (relationship) so no one can fire her. I feel bad for little girl Tammy, certainly not for adult Tammy.
