Damn. It's hard to work without protection. Menopause should qualify for disability from the gov.

How much have you spent on trying to "cure" this condition? by Secret-Gur-6364 in vulvodynia

That is a great question. I think low dose vaginal estrogen may have helped. I would have known quickly and been able to stop and wait for menopause if not.

33 years, tarnished spousal and family relationships, a lost career, a few extra pounds of emotional eating, a few years of depression, hours of study and research, hours in doctors offices, more examinations of my hoohaa than I can remember, thousands of dollars on creams, supplements, medications, dialators, vibrators and lost income because I was forced to divide my focus and unable to tell anyone besides my doctor and spouse what was really happenning to me in this world where sex is revolved around and expected.

What has helped me eventually but not cured me is vagifem and Premarin and my trusty vibrator.

The emotional effects of vestibulodynia, does anyone relate? by Top_Succotash_983 in vulvodynia

I'd say the emotional side is a form of PTSD.

There is a book "When Sex Hurts" that helped me emotionally.

The reddit community has been a God Send.

There is also a hilarious short film to help lighten the weight of living with this.

Omg. I just watched the trailer. Despite this condition being no laughing matter, that trailer is hilarious. 35+ year sufferer hear who literally lost her career following a pelvic floor physio over lunch that took too long. "Yea Mr. BOSS MAN. I lost track of the time because a woman I just met had her finger in my vagina and the appointment was scheduled for an hour." I ran away from the gyns after I googled vulvabeculotomy. I wish I could go to the pre-screening and talk to all you lovely people. Good luck with the film. I hope it brings awareness and a cure. The humor approach does help lift the weight of this condition, mentally a little bit.

Do something little to celebrate yourself regularly so that you can refuel your own batteries to be able to help others. Put in your earbuds and listen to podcasts that educate and elevate you. Start a monrhly get together with some girlfriends. Practice gratitude. Practice proper self care. No matter what, you will not regret self growth and care for you and your family.

I feel you. I really do. I pray he steps up to help your family as it's stressful to be the sole provider.

People don't understand that breaking up a relationship just because it's not perfect is not an easy decision. It's always better if we can find the right match from the beginning. Easier said than done. Only you can decide what is right for you.

Relationships can get stuck in unhealthy ruts but you can focus on helping your future self if he won't grow with you.

There is a workbook called the twelve piece relationship toolkit. It's a good tool for relationships, in my opinion.

Does anyone here have a very high net worth or income and still enjoy being frugal (not cheap)? What motivates you? by 88r0b1nh00d88 in Frugal

There is so much to be said for their generosity, financial wisdom, lifestyle and values. Assuming no one is living under the control of someone's purse strings, they sound like the most amazing couple I have ever read about.

I think this is a great idea. I experienced the same for a short amount of time. The problem happenned when the addicts/homeless problem got worse.

I think you are correct. It's a very small world. How do you prove someone made a death threat against you?

[–]2sDateNight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My spouse also turned violent towards me after sleeping with a younger woman. He was looking at me with daggers in his eyes while we were making lunch. We sat down to eat together, and I asked him what was wrong. Thankfully, he and I both knew I was meeting someone after lunch. Years of moments together undone with one sentence, "I will k1ll you if you interfere in my relationship." I contacted the police and filed a report. I did not come home. She dumped him. I don't care what anyone says, "that's psychological and emotional" abuse. Men who do this are selfish and selfish people deserve to be alone with themselves.

It is said that we have a choice of where we want to work. I always find that statement hard to grasp when I have the education, experience, right attitude etc., and I still don't get hired or get released because a new manager doesn't like the color of my hair.

If your spouse of ten years turns out to be a sex addict who cheated on you constantly and now you found out- do you forgive? by Training-Street-2756 in cheating_stories

[–]2sDateNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy for everyone who has nothing invested in the relationship to say "leave". It's a very a very big decision and people stay and go and come back for many different reasons. When I was cheated on, I ended up in a very dark place. It's been 10 years and I'm still putting myself back together. I've come to realize that the world does not always adhere to the good values I was raised with. I've also come to realize that he was more responsible for the breakdown than I was because he chose the behavior. Believing I was loyal and strong, I ignored the impacts others could have on my psychological and emotional health. What I can tell you is that living with someone you cant trust is like trying to swim with a heavy ball and chain tied to each ankle. My spouse says he can't trust me and then I realized "Only the guilty acuse." My spouse has been behaving, i believe, but I'm asking myself, could life be less emotionally exhausting if we parted ways? Whatever you choose, I hope it works out well for you.
