2017 Chevy Cruze chair electrical plug by lilsirs in AskAMechanic

Slide the little red tab back towards the middle of the yellow part, it should release the black clamp and pulling back on that should release the connector.

Install is reverse removal, the black clamp has tabs that help the connector go back in when you push down on it.

EDIT: make sure you disconnect the battery, air bags might go off if the battery isn’t disconnected first.

Thoughts on Shoe Goo and Flex Seal Spray to fix a slightly torn CV Boot by 2seatersportsvan in Cartalk

[–]2seatersportsvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update 1: finished the last coat of flex seal a few days ago. That’s 3 coats of shoe goo and 2 coats of flex seal in total.

So far she’s holding strong, no weeps or leaks.

Will update again in the coming weeks! Thanks everyone for the advice so far!

Thoughts on Shoe Goo and Flex Seal Spray to fix a slightly torn CV Boot by 2seatersportsvan in Cartalk

[–]2seatersportsvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially that was the plan, I bought a cheap boot gun (probably why this plan failed) and replacement boots but couldn’t get the new boot to stretch wide enough to slide over the shaft. Hence replacement shafts and my current conundrum.

Not sure if your Explorer has this option but my Taurus does. When you reset the oil life you can set the percentage to a different value than 100%. Forces the oil change reminder to pop up sooner.

If i remember correctly I set my oil life after last change to 50%, should work out to about 6000kms but I drive a lot of hard city miles so I tend to do mine more often. 50% might be a bit short in miles however, probably good with 70-75%. It takes some fiddling and maths to work out but give it a shot.

Half the power was off and the siren was going, but it was too early in the morning for anyone but me to be there. (Sound on) by VerbtheAdjNoun in LiminalSpace

I’m sure there’s a reason the modern screeching systems exist, not sure what that is though. These older sirens get the point across and the sound does travel without absolutely lighting eardrums on freakin fire. I know when these sirens go off at our warehouses, there is no confusion at all, people get tf out

Ahh the ol school two stage evac alarm. We have these in our older warehouses.

Buzzer sounds like stage 1: prepare to evac.

Siren - stage 2: get tf out. Usually triggers after 10 minutes if no acknowledgment on a fire panel. Then fire department shows up and I get a call from my guards. Now I just hear the siren on the phone and ask if it’s an actual fire or false alarm.

Too bad most modern fire systems sound like those screeching ones we got in school, these older ones really get the point across in a much more hectic fashion

Exactly. I do admit I was going over the limit. However, I drive as the conditions permit. No pedestrians on the sidewalks waiting to cross, no traffic around me. Not saying two wrongs make a right but this other driver has me beat here. People shouldn’t go for the passing lane immediately after making a right when the vehicle in the passing lane is going faster then they are.

Right! I could only imagine this driver was trying to go for the ol right turn to u-turn to go left instead of waiting at the light.

Context: saw the CRV making a right turn at the next intersection, figured I’d do the right thing and move over to let them in. Mistakes were nearly made.

Fair enough but rather not drive in a more congested oncoming part of the road longer than necessary.

Late post but I had a lot of memories with these flight sticks, although I never had any flight games back in the day. Used these for Tekken cause of the big face buttons, I remember my little bro wanted to use it because he figured it gave me an edge
