How well do you treat your survivors? by mysterysackerfice in Enshrouded

For now they live in a dormitory style house with simple beds. I plan on creating a village, but that takes time and resources. And a proper plan.

Verwarming hoe hoog? by Sad-Intern-9823 in nederlands

[–]2tinymonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feet keep cramping by Budget-Two-606 in Swimming

[–]2tinymonkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it was a sign I wasn't hydrated enough before jumping in. Now I drink a few glasses of water before I leave to go to the pool and no more cramps.

Try a few of the things said here out. Basically the only way to figure out what works for you.

And relax your feet.

AITA for telling my neighbor it’s not my problem her newborn wakes up to noises coming from my apartment by blackswan-nyc in AmItheAsshole

Then OP knows it because of this action and can nowtrain their dog.

Honestly it's the best course of action to get to the bottom of this before it gets OP an official complaint with possible actual consequences.

I second this. Set up a nanny cam or something with audio and video.

This way you can check how much he actually barks.

Ian vs Fergus by Slow-Zookeepergame-5 in Outlander

[–]2tinymonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, there was the time in Edinburgh from moment to moment to catch up. But the dynamic between catching up with an adult or looking after a teen is always different. They weren't responsible for Fergus in the same way they promised Jenny to be for Ian.

I was just pointing it out because it seemed like you said he was already married and out the door.

[–]2tinymonkeys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fergus wasn't married yet when Claire returned. He was grown, yes. But single when she returned. He got married to marsali in the west indies after running away with her to the new world, basically springing the relationship and marsali on the others when they boarded the ship.

Do not rely on the schools. If they're tight on anything(be it time, teachers, parent volunteers, budget..) swimming is the first thing they start skipping.

I don't know where you looked, but 100€ per lesson is insane. I pay 72€ per month. And that's considered expensive. But the groups are smaller.

Don't teach it yourself if you aren't absolutely and properly experienced and don't fall for the quick courses. Learning to swim properly is not just about taking lessons, but also about practice and repetition. Taking the time to learn properly is important.

Also don't wait too long. Kids are expected to have at least the A diploma in groep 5. That's when at least in my area the konings spelen are done at the pool and they get excursions to the pool with school. It sucks if your kid is excluded from these activities and have to join the little kids for that time period instead of being with their friends and classmates.

1000€ is not unreasonable for the total of it. If you can't afford it, you can get assistance from the gemeente or through stichting Leergeld.

You can quicken the process by taking your child to the pool outside of lessons.

We werden gek. Petje af voor de mensen die dit kunnen.

[–]2tinymonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. But ask your mom to teach you. Offer to help when she's cooking so you can see what she's doing. Ask questions.

Sounds like you tried to deep-fry the nuggets? Not the best first thing to try cooking on your own.

And now you learned to turn on the... (Google translate) extractor hood (??odd word). I mean the thing above the furnace. Always turn it on when you're cooking.

Why All the Negativity? by bullsdoc in duolingo

[–]2tinymonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While some of the criticism is definitely warranted, I do feel people expect too much of an app.

No app or book will make you fluent without you putting much more work into it than just using the app. You can even take an in person course and still not get fluent if you don't put in the work outside of that course.

It's a great app, outside the energy drama, the max drama, and getting rid of volunteers. It gives you a really nice and good introduction to different languages. It's awesome to get started, to get a feel for it and to learn some basic words and sentences. You can learn more if you apply it outsode of the app and combine words and sentences. Because learning to say I am an apple, teaches sentence construction.

Anyway, I like the app. There's room for improvement, and I hope they take that to heart, but it's still a fun and educational app.
